Searching for further information on my great-grandfather FRANCESCO DONATO born in the 1870's (exact date unknown). He married Emilia Gliozzi in Plati, Reggio Calabria, Italy and they had two children together, Domenico and Rosina.

Francesco was a very handsome man (have photographs). It is believed that he was originally from the Naples region. He migrated to America in the early 1900's where he later remarried and had more children in the USA.

His firstborn son (my grandfather) was DOMENICO DONATO born 1st December 1903 in Calabria, who immigrated to Australia on the ship Principe Di Udine which left Messina, Sicily in February 1928, arriving in Australia on the 23rd March, 1928. His daughter Rosina was born in 1904 and remained in Plati, Italy.
