it was typed as per the church book and the following is typed as per newspaper:

northern daily mail
west hartlepool
17 november 1909

doncaster
on the 17th inst., at "westover" jesmond road, west hartlepool, william frederick doncaster, aged 57 years. cortege to leave above address on friday at 3pm.

When did William Fredrick Doncaster die? Are you sure it wasn't Fredrick William doncaster?

No, I am connected through the FIELD family.
Ivy Gwynne FIELD m. Herman Solomon LEVI b. 1878 and
Muriel Rebecca FIELD m Henry Enoch LEVI b. 1882

My interest is really the BELL line. Their mother Rebecca Jane BELL was my ggg.grandfather's sister.

She doesn't appear to exist before her marriage in 1902 in Marylebone to Walter Jarrett. 1911 census says born in Kensington c1879 - can only find a registration for a Maria Doncaster. The Doncaster family at the address for the 1879 birth don't have a Maria Doncaster with them on the 1881 census. There is a Charlotte Doncaster in a nursing home in Kent in 1881. There is a Maria Doncaster in a school in 1891. Can't find her in 1901 at all. Her daughter Frances Rose was born in 1901 - a year before the wedding. Think the parents died - Susan in 1884 and William Henry in 1891. He's listed as Henry on all the census returns but as William Henry on the marriage certificate.

Have ordered all the birth certificates for the Charlotte Doncasters born in Hackney and Lambeth but they're not the right father.

Does anyone have any ideas whether Maria and Charlotte may be the same person?

Raphael Doncaster(1795-1824) was my gggrandfather.He was married to Sara Ann Holt (1804- 18-?) Their daughter Lucinda (1846-1933)was my ggrandmother.She was married to Charles B Delesdernier.(1841-1919) Their daughter Irene Eva Delesderinier(1892-1956) was my grandmother. Hope this helps.

I have traced my tree back to Sarah Doncaster - her son William Doncaster was bap 8/2/1800 in Weston Notts, Sarah was not married. I have now got stuck trying to discover who Sarah's parents were or what happened to her after the birth of WIlliam.
