i am a donelson and proud to be. i had alot of questions of where didi the name come from and why is it a big deal on how to spell it.. now donelson's always make the distinction that it is el no second d.. i have got bits and pieces of who i am but my biggest question was is how did we get black. that may sound crazy but i honestly asked and got a good explanation it was an affair with a slave while the donelson's were at the hermitage house in tennesse. has anyone else ran across a story like that is there any more black donelson's that wonder like i did ??? if so what did you find out. please feel freee to write me back withinfo or to ask questions i will be glad to share we should have a donelson reunion to exchange history and see how a hundred years can change your ancestry..
