Bernhard Augustus Kollmann arrived in New York City January 02, 1862 with his wife, Ernestina (Christine) Lueder Kollmann and three children, Heinrich (Henry Cyril Gilbert),age 6 years, Wilhelm (William J. T.),age 3 years, and Carl (Charles George), age one year, on the ship Sir Robert Peel. They had left Mecklenberg, Schewerin, Germany and were en route to Indiana. In 1907, at the age of 80, Bernard Augustus Kollman, a widower with his living children grown, he went to Colorado with his daughter, Wilhelmina (Minnie) Kollman Bohrer and her husband to homestead near Idalia. His son Frederick Augustus Kollman married Myrtle Maude Doolen of Lincoln, Illinois. Bernard is reported to have left from Frankfurt-on-Maine in 1861.
