Looking for info on Leland L. Doolittle. He enlisted as Captain in the 34th NY Infantry Co. H. on 15 June 1861 and resigned his commission 18 October 1861. He was the main individual responsible for the formation of this particular company--having enlisted most of the company from Crown Point, New York. Later he enlisted as Captain 30 December 1863 in 24th NY Cavalry Co Das-as surgeon. He was promoted to Full Surgeon on 19 Febraury 1864 and resigned his commission on 21 July 1864. He was a physician in New York around Essex County and in Saratoga Springs in the 1880's. He moved at some point to Nebraska. I am wondering if there is anyone out there who knows anything more about Leland Doolittle. If so--could you please reply? Thank-you.
