my grandfather is Arthuro Dorado the son of Fransisco Dorado, and now the only living child of Fransisco Dorado. He is 79 years old.

There were; Angel,Mario,Olga,Margeret and Arthur.
they never had foster children, that info is incorrect.

Fransisco passed away in 1934 I believe. I have to double check with my grandfather on that.

Hello, My name is Manuel Alejandro Dorado. My parents and grandparents were born in eastern Cuba. They tell me that the origination of the Dorado surname (as far as they know) crosses the Atlantic over into Spain, exactly where I'm not sure. A few years ago, I managed to get in contact with some Spaniards with the last name Dorado. They tell me that Dorados have been in Spain for a few centuries, but the true origin is in Italy. As you can see, my interest is finding a true origination and how the name came into existance moreso than finding a long lost cousin. If you have any information that can help me I would greatly appreciate it. GOOD LUCK!

Torivio Dorado was my great grandfather Juana Sotelo Dorado My great grandmother. I am trying to find their parents line. All I know is that they came to Los Angeles aprox 1905 from Juarez, Mexico. Their first son was born in 1905 Gomesindo ( Uncle G. ) in Los Angeles. Thats where I got that date from. But before that its a mystery. Please help if you can. Thank you. Debbie

Hi Luc, It has been many years since you posted this inquiry. I hope you are well. My name is Debbie and Torivio Dorado was my great grandfather. I met him only once in 1975 just before he died. Andrea Dorado ( Torivio's daughter) is my grandmother she is still alive as is some of her brothers and a sister. If you or any other member of the family are interested in the little information I have please feel free to contact me. They are very tight lipped, so I too am limited on information. However my grandmother has been a great source for me. Plus you could have some valuable info for me from Juan Antionio. Take care,D.

This is Harry's wife, Leila. We got married April of 2000. I have been trying to find information on the Dorado family and just happened to come across this site. I am new at this geaneology business and am discovering it is quite a challenge. I am trying to find any history of the Dorado's in Spain.

The eldest Dorado in my family, Lucio (1923) is still tight lipped about the family. His parents were Juan Antonio ( Longhino ) and Getrudes. Juan had a brother named Torivio and I believe 2 others who's names are escaping me. Telesforo died in March 2001. He was my Grandfathers brother a.k.a. tio Foto.

My great-grandfather on my mother side and on her mother's side was from Spain, then went to Cuba, then finally to Tampa, Florida, where he died sometime (I'm guessing) in the early 1940's. His name was Francisco Dorado and he had 6 kids plus 2 foster kids. I will try my best to remember them. Angel, Olga, Arturo, and Margeret are four of them. I know/knew all 4 personally. I can't remember the other 2.

karen, i was mistaken.. My grandfathers name was Antonio Dorado... He had about 17 kids total--two were from a mistress and I think they live in Southern California, but ive never met them. My grandparents are from Guadalajara, Mexico and they moved up to Juarez. I dont know what ever happened to my great aunts and uncles, but i know i have a few. I also have aunts who live in Southern California, and cousins in Northern California. My grandmother's name is Dolores Nuno Dorado, she is still alive, but my grandpa died of diabetes in the late 80's. If anyone has any link to my info, let me know...

The names are close but not related. My dad's name is Daniel Dorado but he lives in San Bernardino, CA his mom's name was Virginia Dorado but she died in 1970. Her husband Antonio Dorado came to Southern CA in the 1890's, from Mexico he died in 1956. If you are related to any of them, then yes, I am thinking we would be cousins. Anyhow, I am still looking for long lost cousins, please contact me if you find any other information. Where are you currently located? I am Northern Nevada myself. I'm a spanish woman living in England. I originally come from the Badajoz region of southern spain.
My father tells me that during the middle ages there was a landlord who employed a large workforce, He was called Dorado and it was usual for all his employees to adopt his surname for the purpose of a census.
This is possibly how the surname extended.
