Hello Sharon, I found your query from 2004 so I don't know if you will even read this. My ex husband is a Doriean from Melbourne and I am pretty sure that Thomas Charles b 1871 is his grandfather. He is the youngest of 10 and I believe members of his family may have some information, Yours Sharon Doriean.

Seeking information on the family and relatives of John and Margaret Keeren/Keerns (ne Dorian) I originally thought my family were all from Donegal but it may be that John Keeren and Margaret Dorian lived else where.

William Keeren married to Sarah Paton both born about 1797 Ireland
Son John Keeren (Born c1818 Ireland Died 23rd May 1894 Greenock Scotland) married to Margaret Dorian (Born c1820 Ireland Died 29th April 1895 Greenock Scotland) Margaret Dorian was the daughter of Martin Dorian & Margaret Bonar

John and Margaret had a son Michael born 1838 who married in 1865 (Greenock Scotland) New wife Margaret Sheridan born 1835 Kilnoe & Tomgraney Co Clare Ireland. There may be other children from these unions, any information/help welcome.
Thanks Tom

(Note)(Keeren/Keerns/Kearns/Cairns)Who knows what the correct spelling of our surname should be. Various documents over the last 200+ years show an assortment of spellings even Kerran – Carron which makes researching this branch of my family interesting to say the least
But both Barnabas--in Ontario-- and Clarissa were born AFTER the Revolution.

Any help or advice is welcome.

Thanks

Patsy

There are many of us researching this name and it may be that we are all descended from the same Bernard Dorian and Ellen his wife. Their son Bernard who was born in 1845 had six xhildren of whom five grew up and had their own families.
Their children were called Bernard, Joseph, Ellen, Ann, Daniel Nicholas and Elizabeth Jane. They lived in Sunderland Co Durham
I found a Hugh Dorian living in Liverpool as well who had a son Daniel Nicholas so i assume he too is related.
lesley hodges
Her full name was Mary Ellen Dorian and she married Patrick Mcginty some time in the 1870's or 1880's. My grandmother Mary Ellen McGinty was born in Bloomington in 1888 and married John C. Watson. I believe that Patrick and Mary Ellen (Dorian) McGinty are both buried in St. Mary's Cemetary on W. Wasington St. in Bloomington.I'm sorry I don't have much more than this but I hope it helps you.

Dorian Artists

I'm looking for the Dorian who may have painted an interpretation of the Winslow Homer's "Fog Warning". He or she may be from Massachusetts, perhaps Cape Cod. The painting is probably about 20-30 years old. Any information would be appreciated .

retropez@hotmail.com
(I figured out the answer to my last question, your surname is in Patrick's obit, so....)
Ok.. here goes.
Jane and Patrick are buried at Calvary Cemetery in Seattle. Jane L. (Bray) died October 21, 1933 of Chronic Nephritis. I can email you a map to her headstone, death information (records from the funeral home) and an obituary and a photo of the headstones. Her parents were Patrick Bray and Mary Murry, both from Ireland.
Patrick H. Dorian is buried next to her, I have no records from the funeral director, but do have an obit. The funeral director is John Kalin, but they were sold many years ago and the records were moved to storage in Olympia. There was a flood some years back and the records for that time period were destroyed... although there is still the death certificate (That you can send off for, I dont have it). He died July 1937, 75 years old.
Patrick F. Dorian is buried at Washelli. Again, I have information on him as well...

dorian family

as a novice internet user, i was looking up our family surname and was very exited to see people in america named dorian!!.In Australia, the name Dorian is fairly rare- here in Melbourne where I live, there are only twenty or so listed in the phonebook.Anyway,my father was Patrick Francis Dorian, born in australia 2/9/1913 died 9/11///1998.His ancestry was Irish-grandparents I believe. I know that there has been a family tree done-a relative in Queensland was doing one a while ago-and there may be someway we all link up together back in Ireland. I shall pursue the matter .My grandfather was also called Patrick Dorian- and my brother Patrick charles, has a son called Patrick James Dorian!!!! So the name lives on here. By the way, we have been curious to find out about the champion surfer-Shane Dorian who comes from Hawaii. He is often out here competing-we have often thought he must be a relative. Anyway,I shall find out the family tree here, and if I find anything interesting, I shall post it.Lovely to read all your messages--- Ellen Mary Mcgregor (nee Dorian)

I Apologize!

Here is an email I received. Sorry, if I have offended anyone on this list.

Sharon

I know you want to find out about your family, but posting your family
tree 50 times, tends to irritate others. The search engine will find the
names if one searches for it, and meanwhile, you could supply some
meaningful details, rather than regurgitate what you've already put on
every other board.

Just a little helpful hint. It's sort of like the boy crying wolf! :~)

All you had to do to respond to my query was say, "Yes, I have a Bridget
married to a Dorrian, but I don't know what the first name of the
Dorrian is or when they wer married."

Besides, I am looking for a Bridget Cunningham, not a Bridget Gallagher.

Margaret O'Neill
