I have seen many references on the internet to the wife of Narcisse Dorion named Cecile McDonnell (Mawiskak) being a native woman but I have not seen a single bit of evidence that she was indeed métis or native. Does anyone have any hard evidence or is it a case of someone starting a story that was repeated so many times that people now think it is fact.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
