Hi Scott,

I do not know if I have a connection with Wolfgang Dorn but my ancestor named Nicholas Dorn left Nurenberg in the early 1800's (we don't know exactly when)to go to Walter, Russia before descendants eventually immigrated to the US in the early 1900's. What caught my attention from your posting was a.) our ancestors were originally from Nurenberg and family history says that there were 3 brothers - one went to South America, another to the US and the 3rd to Russia b.) our previous failed attempts to trace the family in Nurenberg even though our family records show that is exactly where they came from c.) the name Jacob Dorn (which I know doesn't necessarily mean anything!) has been in almost every generation of my family as far back as we can go - including my own brother's name! and d.) we have members of the Dorn family recorded as being "expert boot makers" in the 1800's.

If any of this information strikes a chord with your family history, please contact me and perhaps we can find missing connections.

Thank you, Kelly
