This is my line of the Dorris family also. On the 1850 census it shows, Andrew Dorris ( born 1818 in Sumner, TN )and his wife Harriet (29), with their children, Eliza(9), Timothy(7), William(5), Thomas(3), and Henry(1. Andrew's parent's Elijah (63) and Polley (62) and also on the census. I think "Polly" has another name, maybe "Mary" Thomas DORRIS m. Sara TISON in 1871. Sara married John TURNER in 1884. (Did Thomas die?) On the 1900 census John and Sara have 6 kids. Of those 6, 2 are DORRIS boys, Bart (20)and Tom (16). Bart is my g-gradfather.
