I've heard the same report. A family member who visited Paris found Dorris family members (spelled the same way but pronounced Dorree'). He said it seemed that most of them were Jewish--and we're all Protestants. Another mystery. There are also Dorrises living in French Canada (Quebec). I've read and been told that the Dorris family moved to Ireland from Greece. Maybe some of them stopped off in France. I wish I had the answer. Please let me know if you've found anything.
