Barb, Do you have Johann Georg Dorschel siblings or parents names. I have a Lucas Dorschel born 18 OCT 1810 TO Valentine Dorschel and Katherina Balzer in Hainzell, Hessen. Blankenau is a small village located a few miles from Hainzell, where the archives of the catholic churches of both villages are maintained prior to 1835. Lucas Dorschel is my great-great-grandfather and lived in Buffalo, NY from 1836 to 1840

Hi there,

I am looking for any information about Oscar Dorschel, born 1842 and married 1863 in Württemberg, Germany.
Does anyone have any information about parents, wife, descendants etc.?

Another person I still need information about is Christoph Carl Dorschel, born 18.9.1835 in Aalen, Württemberg (son of Johann Friedrich Dorschel, born 2.7.1799 and his wife Maria (nee König), born 11.7.1807 in Essingen). Christoph Carl Dorschel emigrated to Amerika in 1856. Are there any descendants?

The Lucas Dorschel you mention, would he have had a middle name of Conner. Our daughter married Matthew Dorschell, he has stated that the first german immigrant to the USA was supposed to have been Lucas Conner Dorschel. Matthew's father is Joseph Dorschel of Wisconsin. Any info you have and can share will be appreciated.

I am looking for descendants of the following persons:

Christoph Carl Dorschel, born 18. September 1835 in Aalen, Germany, emmigrated to America in 1856.

Hermann Dorschel, born 17.10.1850 in Kaltenwestheim/Germany, emmigrated 7.6.1872 to Baltimore, died 1.1.1883 in Baltimore

Can anyone help me? Or does anyone have additional information on the Dorschel-family-history?

I am interested in the family of Elizabeth Mannas, 1848-1927. She married Boniface Dorschel, 1849-1917. Their children were Anna, George, William, John, Margaret. Any links to your research? The Mannas family was originally from Germany. Came to Pittsburgh abd then the Clarion County, PA.

I am the grandson of John Dorschel (1911?-1991). He went to Norte Dame and lived in Rochester most of his life. His sons are Donald and Richard. Is Romel his father? I have no idea. please let me know. Just curious.

Johann Georg DORSCHEL (1800-1861) born and married in Blankenau, Chur-Hesse. His son was Roman DORSCHEL (1832-1893) who emigrated to Rochester, NY. I will post again if my records show that Johann or Roman had siblings named Boniface.

Julius died in a Veterans Hospital in L.A. in 1947. He was listed as a bachelor, so I assume there are no descendants.
