Shannon, I moved our discussion to this board since I have not been able to find a connection to the McClallen family, as of yet. My great-grandmother Bessie Eldora (DORWIN) Fish was born in Sparta, Wisconsin. Our ancestors are related, and I can explain all that later in more detail. I was chasing a lead in the McClallen family because Bessie had in her possession a letter written by Byron McClallen to his "Sis" when he was in the Civil War, and I was hoping to find some connection between the two families. Since I could not figure out why or how she ended up with such a letter in her possession. My roots are with the DORWIN family, however. I am very interested in doing some sharing and comparing of histories. Already, I can see that you were able to do some fine tuning on previous information that I had collected.
