Apologies, not sure why I didn't recieve an alert regarding your question - just seeing it on the thread. My (verifiable) roots begin with Willam B. Doss who was born in GA (most likely Jackson Co.) but moved to AL at a young age. Several of his decendents stayed in AL; my line went to TX.
