I am trying to rectify that William Doss son of John Doss (unproved first Doss immigrant to US) is the father of Joshua Doss, father of William Doss, father of James, father of John William (emigrated from Pittsylvania County to St. Louis County in abt 1841). I have fairly strong proof of the descendancy of John William Doss from Joshua.

Libbie, here is my concern: I have only your “belief” that Joshua is the son of William as my source. Also, I do not have any documentation that William is the son of John.

Could you (or another researcher) please share the basis for your belief so I won’t feel so guilty whenever I read Shown Mills’ citation book. If you prefer you can email me at darillyn@gte.net
