DNA testing of Mrs. William G's direct female line shows that she was not Native American. There is some Middle Eastern blood in her line, perhaps Sephardic Jew, of which there were many in SC around the time of William G b 1787. Charleston had the largest (and wealthiest) Jewish community in North America until the 1830's.
