Classification: Query
Surnames: Dougan, Adams, Palmer
Many years ago in Erie, PA, there was a family bible history recorded by the wife of Matthew Dougan, from Dublin Ireland, born in 1782. He came to New England in 1800. Matthew married Roxania/Roxanna Wheaton, dau of John Mack Wheaton and Martha Severcool. They resided in Genesee county NY. Matthew died on Nov 1, 1821 probably near Erie PA. Roxania went on to marry two more times and had children by both marriages. M2 was to a man named Adams and M3 was to Ezekiel Palmer. They lived in Greenfield Twp, Erie PA.
Does anyone have information on the where abouts of this bible. There are people in Erie whom have a hand copy of the contents of the family information, but it would be nice to locate the actual bible if it still exists. There seems to be some descrepancies in the family histories as to the spelling of Roxania/Roxana and her actual last name (Mack vs. Wheaton). Perhaps the original bible or some of her later descendants could clear this up.
Thanks, Bette
