Still looking for information on my great-grandfather Bill Douglas(s) born about 1864 in either MO or AR. According to the marriage license Bill is listed as S.B. Douglass marrying Martha Jane (Pierce) Ritter on July 7, 1894. The 1900 census indicates that Martha is Widowed with two children Frances born 9/7/1898 and Pearl (my grandmother)born 6/28/1900. Based on what my mother tells me Bill died before Pearl was born while digging a well; however no one knows if his death occurred in AR or OK. It is believed that at the time of his death the family was living in Siloam Springs, Benton Co., Akansas. However, after checking the deaths for Benton County for 1900 there was no one by his name listed which leads me to believe that his occurred in OK. I have been stuck on this for several years now and really would like to get this side of my family back further. If anyone at all knows anything about this person please let me know, any information would be greatly appreciated.
