      <description>Thank you for your inquiry re: Douhan.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My name is Swedish in background and came there from Belgium in the early 1600s when the family to work in the iron and steel industry.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My father arrived in the US in 1909.  His half-sisters and his brother came a few years earlier.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My sense is that the Douhan family to which you refer may well have an Irish connection.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It's clear that you have done good work from 1858.       <description>My family decends of Douhan, Pete Douhan born in 1858 , dont know his parents name, but I have from him on to now, his wife was Margret, they had :Annie Douhan 1899, Gladys Douhan 1902, Sadie Douhan 1898, and Grace Douhan 1918,  Annie Douhan Married into Stenswick family, she named her daughter Annie Stenswick, she married Jerold A. Drake, and they had daughters Evelyn Anne Drake and Betty Drake, Evelyn married Micheal O.Woolard, and they had 6 children, Jeffery, Clifford, Patrick, Cheryl, and twin boys David, and Dale.       <description>My great grand father was C.E. Douhan " Carl Erik Douhan". They came over on the Uss Hekla in 1892 from Sweden.  I have quite a bit about his family and would love to share with you. I am looking for infornation on Carl J. Douhan son of Carl Erik.  Carl J. moved to Oregon area and married a Vesta unknown any help with this branch would be great. Also I am looking for Carl John Douhan and his wife Helen Grimsbo and their family.&lt;br&gt;By the way my grandmother was Elvira Douhan.</description>
