I recently purchased a bunch of older paper items. One of the items shows a man on a horse. On the back is written "Dale Douthat, May 26, 1962, New Hampton, Missouri". There are no more markings on the photo. Attached is a copy of the photo.

Hi,
I'm seeking any info on my 5th GrGrandmother Douthat who had a son
in 1838-40 with a John Hall in Louisa County VA. The childs name was "John Sherman Hall", and he seemed to be orphaned as best we can tell. He lived with
what we think is his aunt and uncle Story Lockhart, and Nancy Hall Lockhart in Louisa, and joined the Civil War from Fluvanna, 44th VA Co. F. He later married and raised a family in Powhatan and Richmond, VA. He died in Rd.VA 1915.

Hi cousin Johnny...Aunt Clem's sister, Rosalie Douthat Repass, was my great granmother and her son, Guy was my grandfather...so my gg grandfather was also yours, James Henry and his father also my ggg grandfather...did you know that they both made inauguration boots? One of them made a pair for Lincon and also a pair for Grover Cleveland...hope you get this long over due message...sending lots of family greetings your way.

Great grandfather Thomas Douthat England was appearently named for an ancestor for whom the Douthat's Gap, now called Jones's Gap was named. The Gap is at the S. C./N. C. line at Ceaser's Head, SC. Thomas Douthat England was born in Brevard, NC 1/1/1853, died 4/5/1922. With any help I have lots to add from the England point of view.

I would like to know if the DOUTHAT's were in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, specifically Dunmore twp. Also Douthard's Creek, which is near above location.

If so, are there any wills, probate records with regard to DOUTHAT's? I would like to know where I can find DOUTHAT records in that area.

Forrest, Thankyou for the information that you have given me. The only Douthat that was in the list of names was Judson, who was a brother of Jesse. Judson T. was born Apr. 1885. Judson worked as a engineer for the railroad. In West Virginia, Keystone, McDowell Co. in 1930, if this information is correct. R.T. Douthat MD, I don't know if my grandfather Jesse Douthat was any relative to Robert W. Douthat. My grandfather was born in Virginia Aug. 1883. He had two brothers Judson and Harry, and a sister Jennie. As far as I know they all boarded with a Cawling family. Harry was a machinist, Judson and Jesse were day laborers. They might have been in Giles Co. Virginia. I would appreciate any information you could give me. Thankyou, Launie

I have researched Jesse Douthat before for another person and
the only thing I come up with is a Jesse Douthat was borned
in Giles County, Virginia on Aug 2, 1883. This information
comes from Vol One, Giles County, Virginia, History-Famlies

The Willam B. Douthat listed in the Pulaski County Virginia census in 1850 was none other than my great great grandfather. He had a son, Ronald O. Douthat; my great grandfather. My Grandfather was Thomas Alexander Douthat. His daughter Maria E.Douthat is my mother. Wiliam B. Douthat was a Civil War veteran. He is listed, and pictured in a book titled "The land that was Pulaski County". The picture is taken in 1892, I think. Pictured were the Confederate Veterans in Pulaski County, Virginia. I did not know that William's father was a Blacksmith. Thanks for the info.

Looking for any ancestors of Jesse and Chalotte Douthat who lived in Nescopeck, Pa. Jesse might have came from Virginia. Their children were Ferdinand, Ivan, Fenwick and Jesse. Not sure if Jesse is spelled you way or not. Family might have originally came from Wales. Thanks for any help you can provide.

My mother was a Douthat, her father was Ferdinand Bernard.
His father was Jesse Ivan Douthat. My mother thinks his mother was
Elizabeth but not sure, because she may have died early and may have
married a Doreen.
My aunt says that I am related to the Douthats in VA.
I am just beginning to get into this.
