HI folks
I'm hoping someone out there might be able to help with this particular "string".. Almira Lafferty b. abt 1845 in Cattaraugus County New York to Edmund Lafferty and Elizabeth Fisk married a David Dow in the early part of 1860 and was not quite 16. The family at that time was living in Cato, Montcalm, Michigan. Census shows David to be 25 b. Canada and a farmer. By 1870 Edmund and Elizabeth on their way back to NY (were living in Cleveland, OH) where they both eventually died. No further sign of David or Almira in any census I have checked. NO where can I find David and Almira. However, the will of Edmund Lafferty dated 10 Mar 1899 and the petition for Execution dated 25 Apr 1901 names: widow Elizabeth, son William; grandaughter Leonra Stockwell, grandson Irven Clark, AND grandchildren: Almira Dow of Boston, MA, Betsy Dow Moy of "China", Edmund Dow temporarily of Cleveland, OH and Richard Dow of Toledo, Ohio.
