I am searching for information on Gracie Ada Dowdy, b. 28 FEB 1901, daughter of "Bud"? Dowdy and Emma Stone both from KY. Gracie had no sisters but had 9-13 brothers, according to family history, David Dowdy, George Dowdy, Bill Dowdy, Lloyd/Loid Dowdy, Floyd Dowdy. After her father's death, her mother remarried and she had more brothers by "Unknown" Walker named William (Bill) Walker, Luther Walker, George Walker, possibly more brothers. Grace's mother or grandmother, from family history, was Cherokee, some who moved to OK per family history. Her mother died when Grace was abt. 12 years old, approx. 1913-14, and she continued to raise some of her brothers and half-brothers even after she was married to Rebah Gaston "Jack" Overturf, from Benton, Franklin CO., IL., possibly married in Stoddard Co., MO. They then moved to St. Louis. They had two sons, Amon and Jack. Grace died suddenly in an automobile accident when at cattle truck hit them head-on on 22 OCT 1949 while they were visiting relatives in Wickliffe, KY. Name spelled incorrectly on death record as "Overtuaf."Grace is buried in St. Louis CO., MO with her husband. Any information would greatly be appreciated.
