Hello. I'm not sure, but we may have a connection. My grandmother Kathryn A Dowling was born in Waterford in 1894 to Henry Dowling and Margaret Dwyer. Henry, born in 1871, was the son of Thomas Dowling and Catherine Hammond. Other children of Thomas and Catherine were:

Ellen 1873
Daniel 1876
Catherine 1878
Mary 1880

My grandparents did live in Ferrybank and I believe that my Dowling line also came to the Waterford area from Kilkenny.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find much information about Thomas's father other than that his name could possibly be John.
