I looking for ancestors for my grandfather Ernest Alfred Christopher Gibson Downes b 7 feb 1907. He was adopted so can find no record or his birth.
Family hearsay thinks he was a child in St Helens lancs.
It is thought that his father was Gibson and emigrated to Australia. His mother was posssibly Florence Downesfrom Cheshire.
Any info on any thread would be appreciated.
