I am wondering if anyone has information about Cyprien (Superior) Downing who was a son of Francois Downing and Anne LeBlanc. He was born in August 1834 and was the sibling of Marine, Magdeleine, Francoise, Susanne, Bibiane, Osithe, Damien and Hyppolite (and possibly others). He married Elizabeth Ann Sullivan of Memramcook and the couple had as many as six children though only two daughters, it appears, survived. Cyprien must have died sometime between 1891 and 1893 because Elizabeth remarried a man named John William Fogarty. After his death she and her two daughters (her daughter Emma was my g. grandmother) emigrated to the Boston area. Cyprien was my g.g. grandfather and I would be most grateful for any information about him or the families of his siblings. There must be hundreds of relatives out there! I have not been able to locate a death record for Cyprien though the family was living in Moncton in 1891, according to the census. Thanks very much for any ideas and leads. My grandfather, Emma's son, was raised in an orphanage so we had no idea until I began this research that he had this rich and fascinating Acadian family background. Many thanks! Amy
