Re: Fannie Etta Doxie, Fannie Wheeless

additional confirmation of Wheeles being maiden name of Fannie Jones

The 1926 Missouri death certificate of Delmer Jones(Fannie Jones son, by her 2nd marriage) lists his parents as Thomas Jones and Fannie Whelis.

Doxie could also be Doxey.

Wheeles has many variations including Wheeless, Wheeliss, Wheelis, Whelis, Whelus, etc.

Missouri records show Fannie Jones, born 15 July 1852, died in MO, 8 June 1945.
She was living with daughter Ethel Jones Tribble and family in Jefferson City MO at the time of her passing.
The death certificate listed her husband as Thomas Jones, and her father as Ames Whellers, b Mississippi. Mrs. Ethel Tribble was the informant.
Possible that name, Wheeless, could have been misinterpreted as Whellers, or that Ethel was unsure of the spelling.
