Looking for information on my great-great-grandmother Catherine Draffin who married Thomas Henry probably in the early 1820s in County Monaghan Ireland. Known to have at least three children : James , Sarah Ann and Elizabeth.

Trying to trace descendants of George DRAFFIN and Euphemia MILLAN who arrived in Sakatoon around 1908 from Scotland (Edinburgh). He was a baker and served in WW1. They are both buried in Saskatoon late 1960s. She was my great grandmother's sister. I have quite a bit on their ancestors for those related.

Florence May Mease was born in Manheim, Lancaster, PA.

Parents were David Mease and Sarah Ann Duck.

Florence applied for a US passport to China, missionary work in the US. Then must have met George Draffin there. There are at least two trips back to the states with children; Ruth M., Vera Olsey, Vernon Roy, and David Keith.

My father was Joseph Layfette Draffin of Atoka Tennessee. He was born sep 15 1923. He had a younger brother named Roy and a sister named Theona or Theoma. I found a report of Roy age3? being in the hospital in Memphis,the results of being badly burned in a grass fire. I cannot find a birth certificate or death certificate. The only other mention of him was in a 1930 census. My father's mother was Zera Bradford also of Tennessee. Theona or Theoma was only mentioned in my grandfather's divorce from his second wife. She stated that my grandfather beat her so bad she was instutionlized as a child. She also had TB. My father was abuse and my mother divorced him when my borther Raymond and I were very young so I know nothing about him or his family but the afore mentioned. Any news would be Helpful. I'm researching the descendants of Thomas DRAFFIN (ca 1855-1934), born in Nepean (in Ontario, Canada), and buried there.

Wife Mary Jane GERVIN (ca 1852-1915).
Thomas was a farmer.
They raised their family in Nepean (Ottawa area).

I was just talking to Rashon... he was happy to hear that you sent a reply. I would like to send you a picture of his son (your nephew) Jamiere. Your brother Ronnie was about ten, when your Dad rode the bike with him to visit his friend Rueben. Rueben was on the boat (as you already know) when it sank. I have never gotten over that... I know that in your heart, you probably see me as "the other woman", I was told that your Mom and Dad had been seperated for four years, when I met your father... of course I later learned it wasn't true... I also met your sister that lives in Georgia. You all have those foreheads... I hope you find it in your heart not to blame me for being a part of your father's life... he was a remarkable person... I just wish that he could have lived longer to enjoy his children and grandchildren. Happy Holiday, and I wish you a very Happy New Year.

We never met, but I did meet your brother once when Ron brought him over. I am the mother of your half-brother Rashon. Rashon is seventeen now. We still reside on the westside. Your sister Fay was the flower girl at my parents' wedding at Norlina Baptist Church in 1948 (which is probably pretty close to the year you were born, right?). My daughter Martha Elizabeth Swanson is named after your mother and my husband's great-aunt Martha. You have the correct names of my two sisters. My mother's sister, Virginia Draffin Waites, lives on Trenholm. She is now 82 and my mother is 87. Draffins are long livers. Mother has told me about the story of little Edna, but I will have to get back with her to get it correct so I will send it to you later.

Her TombStone Reads in Texas: We had a little treasure once, she was our joy and bride, we loved her, Ah! perhaps too well. For soon she slept and died. All is dark within our dwelling, lonely are our hearts for the one we loved to-day, has forever passed away.

Robert--I have an old, type-written family tree that my mother gave me--don't know who made it, but according to it your mother was/is Elizabeth Draffin and your father was/is Johnnie Lorick. I have their address as Trenholm Rd. in Columbia, SC. If this is correct, you have a sister Louise, and another sister Dorothy. Am I in the right place? If so, your grandfather (James Pressley Draffin)was the brother of my great-grandfather (Hugh Wylie Draffin). Our line of the family is centered in Warren County, NC. I have no idea how they got there since everyone else seems to be in SC. My parents are both from Norlina, NC, but I was born and raised in Richmond, VA due to my father's work on the railroad. I currently live in Chester County, PA, but the majority of my family still resides in NC. Do you have any substantive information on the Draffins? I am particularly interested in what you may know about Edna Mae Draffin. She was your grandfather's sister. She was born on June 12,1890 in York Co., SC and died June 30, 1902. She is buried in Chicota, Texas. Why were they there? How did she die? It's wonderful to hear from you! Do you know about the family reunions they used to have (they may still, I don't know) at the church in Neeley's Creek? My mother used to get invitations decades ago, but never went, that I know of. We are researching the Draffens of Albermerle county, Va....Our Robert Draffen was an Irish immigrant born in Dublin appx 1765 and immigated to this country between 1770 & 1785 with two brothers. we haven't been able to find any passenger list records. My Great-great grandfather was a John Draffin who's father was a David just like William's. They all came from Cavan or Monaghan and settled aound Clunes and Burrumbeet, Vic. W's mother was Sarah Francey and he and M.J. gaves some of their children middle names like Francey and Osley(Orsilla?)
I'm still trying to see if I am related to W's father- using Pioneer Index for Victoria and NSW. with Shipping lists. Wish me luck!
