You can find Dragan roots in difrent part of Poland e.g. Lublin area, Wroclaw area. As far as I know for last >150 years they were Dragan

Thank you very much for your willingness to help! Unfortunately, the Longermans aren't direct ancestors -- John Longerman is the husband of a great-aunt; therefore we won't be doing any further research on that line.

Alexander Augustin Dragan, was born in Graz, Austria, September 1, 1866. His mother was named Maria Dragan, and she was married to the "Hauptmanns-Rechnungsführer" (Captain's Head Accountant, I think). The husband of Maria Dragan was *not* Alexander's father. I would like to know his name, however, so I could find the marriage record, and Maria's maiden name. Thank you.

My Grandfather was from Woiteg, Hungery, his sister married a Dragan, in Cincinnati, Oh, USA in the early 1900's.

Do you know if your last name was always Dragan? My husbands family shortened their name to Dragan from Draganiewicz many years agao. My husband's great grandfather Leon Draganiewicz (b-April 11, 1870) was from Obudowka, Poland. He married Elianora Elizabeth Majewska who was born on February 10, 1879 in Sieniawa, Poland. Leon's father's name was Albert Draganiewicz. Any connection?

I found out that he went by Sam. He was married to Magdalena Dragan. He was born Jan 2, 1886 and died Jan 10, 1961. He is buried at Mt Hope Cemetery in Akron, Ohio next to Magdalena. I have pictures. He is from that area.
