i think i can help you. the ancssored did orginated from normandy.There were 4 sons born william charles dragon, chris dragon, tom dragon, and reg dragon,
i am the daughter of the eldest son william dragon. Astham has skipped every other genartion but also heart problems are a major fact in the familys medicidal hisotry.

You know after I posted that I found MORE information. There are two "Mamie's" in my family tree. The first is Ginnie (aka Mamie) who was born to Jules and Janet.... the second is Mamie James (aka Margaret) who married Jules (THE SON). She was born in 1890 and married Jules on March 3, 1903.

I started on my family tree with Ric Dragon's site but I found alot of date of births to be different... and found MORE siblings, many that died as children.

I am stuck on Jules Dragon (the one to Immigrate to the United states with Janet somewhere between 1870-1875. My problem is with the names... I have found Jules, Julian, Joseph Eugene Jules Dragon and am worried that he nicknamed some stuff. I found a lineage under Jane Caderet (aka Janet Caderet) in which she married JULIAN Dragon. Jane is questioned to be: Mary Jane, Jane with the last names> Cadaret, Cadoret, Cariret or Cateral. I cannot find birh records in Canada for ANY of those names for either person. She was married in either 1848 or 1849. He was born with the 1844 era and died around 1920(in vermont).

It's wonderful to here from you. I tried very hard in the late 1990's to find relatives of Mamie. Where do you live?
I thought Jules wife had a different 1st name. I will have to check. I have Mamie's birth certificate, such as it is.

I am related to you. Joe Dragon (Sibling aka: Joseph Louis Dragon) born to Jules and Janet (Cadoret) Dragon is my Great-Great Grandfather. He married Florence Hilliker (Sept 13, 1901) and had Maxwell Louis Dragon (Great-Grandfather) who married Cora Ida Therrien and had Maxwell Joseph Dragon. Who then married Eunice Mae Allen and then had my father Barry Louis Dragon (of Peru, NY).

Mamie Dragon (aka Ginnie Dragon) is Joe's sister.
Janet Cadoret was born in 1850 (Canada)
Jules Dragon was born in 1844 (Canada) Died: 1920 (VT)

My family at some point was part of the Abenaki Indian Nation in Vermont.

While at the library copying obits for someone, I managed to get a copy of the following obit. I am in no way related to this person, but I wanted to post the obit in case it was helpful to someone.

DUBE - Mrs. Victorine R. (Dragon) Dube, wife of Joseph Dube, died Saturday afternoon at the Delaney hospital, where she had been transferred six days ago, following an operation at the Lowell General hospital. She was a resident of this city for the past 45 years and made her home at 73 Holbrook avenue.

She was born in Champlain, N.Y., August 27, 1875. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Dube; four brothers, Gilbert Dragon, Antoine Dragon of this city, Edmond Dragon of Champlain, N.Y., and Hermenegilde Dragon of Newark, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Laroche of Mechanicsville, N.Y., and Mrs. Josephone Levesque of Rosedale, N.Y.; also several nieces and nephews.

The body was returned to the Amedee Archambault & Sons funeral home, 311 Pawtucket street where relatives and friends may call.

I need help locating a Dragon family. My great grandfather Benjamin Bennett Dragon was born to Israel and Tilly/Tillie/Lillie Dragon in Baltimore Maryland. His siblings included Eva, Joseph, David, Frida, and Mary. Benjamin Bennett (he went by Bennett) married Pauline Gottlieb whose family is from Hungary. His son Robert (siblings Eddie and Thalia) married Sonia Silberman.

From what I understand, Bennett's sisters married as Mary Baron, Frida Betz, and Eva Galoon. The Galoon family still lives. Any help/connections greatly appreciated. I am able to find Israel and Tilly in Baltimore but I cannot find any immigration records.

I have been searching for Dragoons in Clinton and Essex Co
New York for about 20 years off and on. My ancestor was Jane E Dragoon who married James Gilbert Allen in Ausable about 1855 area. I believe she may be related to Lydia Dragoon who married Benjamin Strong. Lydias father was Dennis. To your question, you may already know this but what you are dealing with are dit names, one of the ones for Dragoon is Etheir and Hickey. There is a genealogical publication in Clinton County called Life Lines, I belive there are persons who wrote about these lines Glen Either and I think Ric Dragoon, it 's been a long time since I've looked at the information. good luck with your search, Lynn

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you before - I have no knowledge of any of the Dragons in Connecticut. My family is in the Western Massachusetts area - at least the Dragon section of it! My g-g-g-grandfather was Hypolite Quay Dragon (1759-1823), who was married (1780) to Marie-Agathe Lussier.

If there is anything from the Massachusetts Dragons I can help you with, please let me know.

Narcisse Dragon did indeed have a younger brother named Louis Olivier Dragon, who was my great grandfather. He was known in the family as "Oliver." Did you need any information on him? He was born March 26, 1842 in St. Denis, and died April 20, 1907 in Northampton, MA. He married Marie-Angele Levitre on May 20, 1867; they had 14 children, 10 of whom lived to maturity. Oliver was a blacksmith. He is buried in St. Mary's cemetary in Northampton, as is Narcisse, though in a different plot. Narcisse' stone is very difficult to read because it is a white stone and the dark writing has faded from it.

If you'd like any other information on Oliver, please let me know. Also, if anyone chances to know anything about the ancestry of my great-grandmother Marie-Angele Levitre, I'm all ears. I know the names of her parents, but that's all.

in St Denis.
Narcisse Dragon was born 24 Aug 1827 in St Denis and died 13 Aug 1906 in North Hampton, MA.
Did Narcisse have a brother named Lewis Oliver Dragon?

First I like to tell you they belong to the family Brien dit Desrochers Durocher,
Now my question is do you have Joseph parents name, if not, did you have any document went he died, photo, did he was in local press, Did you have name of godfather and godmother ffor his childrens, At the cemetary who he was buried did they write born date and died.

I have a Louis-Alaric Quay born January 16 1730 in Boucherville, QC. He married a Josephte HOBERTIN (AUBERTIN) on Sept 22,1755 in Boucherville. I have then as having a son Louis Ethier Lafrance-Daragon married to Archange bourdon on feb 16 1778. They had 13 children.

His father I have as Louis Quay married to Louise Charbonneau.

Please let me know if this is what you were looking for. Not sure how they connect to Daragon-dit-Lafrance family but would be interested in finding out.

I have a Joseph Dragon, born about 1839 married to a Frances Bernard. This line is a puzzle to me. I have not been able to go back any further. I know that in the 1870 they lived in Spencer MA and had children. Delia Dragon born 1872 was my great grandmother.

I have some information on the Dragons in Putnam Ct.
I have a Marie Aima Dragon, born April 19 1863 in St Denis, Quebec married a Joseph Durocher. She died
June 08,1930 in Putnam, CT.
She was my GG Grandfather Joseph's sister.
Their parents are Joseph Quay Dragon and Margaret Bousquet. they were married July 7 1840 in St Denis.
I don't have any info on the Durocher line and I don't have any info on Lillian Dragon.

Exilia PIVIN, wife of Damase DRAGON was the daughter of Olivier PIVIN and Angelina GAGNÉ.

I had a few hours to make a lookup in the 1891 Canadian Federal Census in Quebec and I found Olivier PIVIN and Angelina GAGNÉ's family listed in Hereford, Compton co (PAC microfilm T-6392, ED-J-3, p. 14), which was the breakthrough I needed to complete the GAGNÉ ancestry. Their children are also listed : Exilia, Frank (born USA), Ludger, Alfred, Joseph.

Angelina's parents are : Théophile GAGNÉ and Angelique FORTIN, married 24 Nov. 1854 at St-Michel de Napierville, Qc. Angelina's brother Théophile GAGNÉ Jr was also living with the family, who was just above the GAGNÉ parents.

Memorial service for Lawrence Joseph Dragon, 76, who died Wednesday, Jun 23, 2004, at Ormond Memorial Hospital, will be 6PM Friday, July 2, at Daytona Funeral Home. Mr Dragon was born in Ludlow, MA. He was a membr of Our Lady of Hope Catholic church, Port Orange. He enjoyed all sports, especially bowling, golf and at one time was a professional candle pin bowler. He was also a paratrooper during the Korean conflict from 1950 until 1952. Mr Dragon is survived by his son, Gary Dragon, South Daytona; daughter Lisa Dragon, Westfield, MA; brother Kenneth Dragon, VA; sister, Marion Giblin, Springfield, MA; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Louis Dragon m. Marie-Louise Lefebvre on 9/25/1821 in St. Denis, Quebec, Canada. Their son, Narcisse, was born 8/4/1827 in St. Denis, and died 8/13/1906. He is buried at St. Mary's cemetary, Northampton, MA; I have seen the stone there. His younger brother, Louis Olivier, was my great grandfather, and is buried in the same cemetary, though not in the same plot.

Accoriding to the good folks at www.dragonfolk.org (thank you, Ric!), Louis' parents were Hyppolyte Dragon and Marie Agathe Lussier, who were married 5/20/1780 in St. Denis. Marie-Louise Lefebvre's parents were Joseph Lefebvre and Marie-Louise Brazeau. I don't have any dates on them. I have done some other research that has brought me up to the names of all but two of Hyppolyte's great great grandparents; of course, the ones I can't find are the parents of Louis Quay dit Dragon.

My great-grandmother Sophie Dragon Tyra Pleto was born in Galicia, Austria in 1889. She came to USA about 1905. She lived much of her life in Sayre, PA and Elmira, NY. I hope we have a connection!

I once again looked through all of my material and it hit me in the face. I got a record from the University of Notre Dame stating that Hickey sounds Irish, but it is actually French- Canadian derived from Etier.

My ggggrandfather Eli (also found the name Elois) Hickey and his older brother Louis Hickey came from Canada (Quebec or Montreal) in 1849. Eli was 17 years of age at this time. Now with the information that I have I do believe that his orginal last name was Etier and it was changed to Hickey. I do know that they still had 2 brothers living in Canada and one was named George.

First how do I research this? I thought I should be looking for Hickey's and now Etier? Is it likely the name Hickey was changed while still in Canada or during the journey to Indiana?

Any information would be SO great and appreciated. I am just stumped and not sure which direction to turn.

Hi,
I am looking for information on Dragone and was wondering what nationality your Dragon family might be. My Dragone's are from Italy and moved to NY some moved further down in Southern NJ and Philly.

Does anyone have information regarding the family of Joseph & Philomine (Dragon) Brodeur? They were married on 28 Feb 1881 in St. Denis, Quebec. Joseph was born on 06 April 1856 in St. Charles, Quebec to Joseph and Sophie (Phaneuf) Brodeur. I would be grateful for any information.
