hello im angelina and my mother is maden name was dragoo she is the daughter of marry-ann and victor dragoo and i was wondering ifyou can send me all the info you have about the dragoo lines because all i know is that the dragoo's got "kicked" out of france and they went to amercia then a billy dragoo at some piont had 2 wives, one around michigan and the outher down south. he had multiple children and came fromm a long line of big familys but the wife down south was a cherroke woman and that is the line i came from . eventulay on of his desendents married a johnson and then later on they became polish so they changed their name to jensesky and that was a little bit before my grandparents were born so please send me more and coul you verifiy the info i have is true sincerly Angelina gale lee ureel

Your grandfather was Charles Opal Dragoo, born in 1902 in MO; died in Los Angeles Co., CA in 1971. Charles was the son of Thomas Simpson Dragoo. I have traced your Dragoo ancestry to Belteshazzar Dragoo, born 1751.

Benjamin Crawford was my great grandfather.

I'm Benjamin Michael (Mike) Eskew. My mother was Elizabeth Dragoo (Eskew). Her father was also Benjamin Dragoo and her grandfather was the one in the picture. I have a picture of her father and mother, but no more.

I saw him only once when I was four years old playing in the sand behind the ranch house in Brewsrter County outside of Marathon. The only thing I remember is his nice pants and shiny boots--that is it.

You might like this story--few people know it. He was also a scout for the US Army in Texas for George Armstrong Custer when the general was civilizing the frontier, so to speak. My mom tried her best at pestering her grandfather to tell her about Custer, but to no effect. Finally, to stop a young girl's curiosity I suppose, he said, "Well, he didn't get caught on our watch." That was it.

I have an original 6”x8” photograph of “Alva and Nell Dragoo”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Tuscola (Douglas Co.) IL, and each of them looks to be in their early 20s, which after research of dates I suppose could have been their wedding photo.

I found the family of Alva Dragoo in the 1920 & 1930 censuses for Normal (McLean Co.) IL, showing Alva was a teacher at Illinois State University, and that they were married when Alva was 21 and Nellie was 20 (abt 1905). They had a son, Kenneth, born abt 1907. SSDI for Alva shows that he was born 31 Dec 1883 and that he died in Jan 1967; and Nellie was born 23 Sep 1885 and died May, 1973 – both of their last SS checks were mailed to Normal (McLean Co.) IL.

Just read your post. My husband Patrick Eskew is the son of the other sister. Her name was Elizabeth Mathilda. She passed away in 2003. Her sister Vergie still lives in El Paso. I'll post her name and address since she says she is "too old" to have a computer.Who was your biological father? Do you know his name? The only other brother that I know of was Jack. Jack's mother was Lou Willie Powell.

i wonder if you could help a little - i am searching for some backgroud on an ancestor of my mother's sister's side of the tree- emerson: there is a mary jane earp B. in texas 1843 and died in oklahoma 1926- her father is calvin earp, and somehow i can't explain but in my heart i just know there is a connection to wyatt earp, a cousin of something. can you help me with your expertise of ancestry on the earps, it would really make a difference. calvin's father's name is joseph; but i know some of these will connect to my tree WILKINSON,GREEN,ROBINSON,MCKIM, WILSON.

So, Elmer James O'shell born May 17th 1887 in MO,USA and died 22 Dec 1949 in La Junta, CO, USA, Father is John Henry Oshel born 19 Feb 1862 in Lafayette, IN,USA, and died 12 Feb 1942 in Condetta, KS,USA and the mother of Elmer wife to John is Amanda E. Grimes born 1860. Now, the father of John Henry Oshel is Jessie Oshel, and the father of Jessie Oshel is John Hoshall... and the rest should be on Ancestry.com. I hope this helps. Clarinda Fenton Dragoo was the mother of six children:
John C., born Jan 1889, NE; Georgia M., born April 1891, MO;
Carl T., born 07 Dec 1892 in MO - died Sep 1970 in St. Joseph, Buchanan, MO; Reuben J. born 03 Apr 1898, Tarkio, Atchison Co., MO; Charles Opal, born 04 Apr 1902, Atchison Co., MO - died 19 Aug 1971, Los Angeles Co., CA; and a son born about 1909 in MO.

Clarinda Fenton was born 07 Sep 1867 in MN - died 16 Jan 1955 in St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., MO. I believe that Thomas and Clarinda divorced. She may have married Emmett Meek about 1909, but that has not been verified.

Based on the 1870 Census, I believe Clarinda's father was Reuben J. Fenton. Her mother may have been Amy Caroline Kelsey, but that hasn't been verified.

This is not my direct family line, but I have some info.
Thomas Simpson DRAGOO is a descendant of the famous Belteshazzar DRAGOO; Rev. Soldier, honored as the first founder in Brown Co. OH in 1794; member of the Shaker Church.

Thomas Simpson DRAGOO, born 10 Jan 1851. He was son of Belteshazzar F. DRAGOO and Cynthia Ann BRYAN. Thomas married Clara CHELSIE, then married Clarinda FENTON. They had six children.

I researched this family for Loretta SNODGRASS, a descendant of Herbert Cecil DRAGOO.

This Benjamin DRAGOO is not the same as Benjamin, brother of William "Indian Billy" DRAGOO. That Benjamin was born about 1770.

Your Benjamin Ephraim DRAGOO was born 13 Jan 1870 - died 14 Nov 1946. He married Cora Alice PEACOCK 03 Jul 1895 in Henry Co., IN. I have identified eight children.

It was late last night when I was looking this info up! Sorry about that. Pleasant & Sarah (Brooks) Dragoo are Elijah's parents and James Noel's grandparents. My gr. grandfather's name was Elijah William Dragoo but when he & my gr. grandmother left Indiana for Minnesota in 1868, he dropped the "Elijah" and there is no reference to that name for him from then on. My Uncle Bill always said his grandfather told him his name was William Dragoo and he had no other name (for some reason he certainly did not like Elijah for a name).

What Dragoo Bible are your speaking of? I have a Bible that belonged to Roy Earl and Bertie L. (Fink) Dragoo. My father was John (William) Earl Dragoo. His family called him Earl, and until his death, I never knew the William was part of his name. I found that he dropped it before going into the military in 1941. My dad died in Feb. 1995 and my mom and my son went with me to the Colorado Springs, Dragoo Reunion. This is to Vi Parsons

I am not sure if Jack is living or not, he would probably still be living in Greeley. All of children of my Great Grandparents (Sylvia and Diar) are gone. Jimmy Dragoo, son of Chauncey Dragoo, lives here in Denver. Donnie Dragoo lives in Ankorage, Alaska. Aunt Willalee Dragoo's children, live in Texas. Are you looking for George Newell Dragoo's descendents? Great Uncle Newell killed himself, sometime between 1930 and 1935. My mother says that they had a son named Kenneth, but we don't know if he is still living. I would love to have a copy of the Dragoo book that you have. Have you visited the Dragoo website? http://www.dragoofamilyassociation.com/. Mom and I figured out that you would be her third cousin my fourth cousin. Your Grandmother Zypher was my mother's Great Aunt.

James Lee Spoon. I was born in the house that George and
Sara lived in in Tarkio, Mo. We usred to live as short ime in Colorado. In Greely and Denver. We stayed wityh Uncle Creight and Aunt Betsy. I knew Jack. Is he still living?
