Hi,

This is a re-post of an old message I posted. I'm Jeanne, and my grandmother was named Jane Dreghorn Douglas and I am looking for the Dreghorn connection. She was born in Kilmarnock in 1873. Jane's parents were Robert Douglas and Elizabeth Walker who were married in Tradeston, Glasgow in 1858.
Other siblings of Jane have middle names of Walker, Howie & Reid - and of course Jane's middle name was Dreghorn.

There is also a William Dreghorn aged 3, shown in the household of a John & Margaret Walker, 26 Bank Street, in the 1881 census for Kilmarnock, In the same household, on the same census entry, there were Mary Walker (M), Hugh Walker (U)) & Elizabeth Walker (U) Is it possible that you may have some link into these families somehow for me? A pretty long shot, but I though I would give it a go anyway!
Thank you . Jeanne Bell
Hi,

I guess we're cousins! I'm also descended from Agnes Dreghorn, dau. of James Dreghorn and Euphemia Clarkson.

I have Euphemia's parents as John Clarkson (b. 1753) and Elizabeth Clark (b. 1757). I don't have parents for James Dreghorn.

You can reach me directly at dsrtjedi@aol.com. I'd love to compare notes.

My ancestor, James Dreghorn b. abt 1787 in Scotland, married Euphemia Clarkson in Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland. They had the following children: Janet, Ann, John, Agness (my gggrandmother), James, andrew and Margaret. I know nothing about James and Margaret's parents nor where they came from--maybe from Ayrshire? Any information you have would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Joan Browning
