JOST DREISBACH'S HANDWRITTEN JOURNAL BOOK. I understand that Jost Dreisbach (1721-1794) of Lehigh Township, Northampton County, PA. kept a journal. This would be an old, leatherbound book with handwritten notes, in German. Jost would have used the book to keep track of his business and his family. Traditionally the eldest son inherited the book. That would be John Jost Dreisbach (1757-1813), who moved to Herkimer Co., New York. Alternatively, it could have gone to the son who stayed home, Adam Dreisbach (1762-1849) who married Maria Margaret Hamscher. If so, it could have gone through the maternal line to the Hower family, or to another, unknown family.

Does anybody have any information regarding the whereabouts of this journal that belonged to Jost Dreisbach?
