Hi,

I am looking for information on a Dresbach family who lived in Kingston, Ohio. Carson N Dresback (died 1965) was married to Kate (nee Lowe -died 1976) and they had 2 daughters and 1 son; Mary Ann Dresbach (born 1921), Jean D Dresbach (born 1925) and John William Dresbach (killed in action WW2).

If anyone has any information on Jean or Mary Ann, I'd be much obliged. I'm related to them through their mother Kate, but I don't know if they ever married or if they had any children.

Thanks!

Re: John Dresbach

Maybe you can help me. My husband's grandmother was Lillian Dresbach, her parents were Lillie Myers and Milton Dresbach. Milton's parents were William and Margaret Earnhart Dresbach and Lillie's parents' were William and Hester Clark Myers. I know these facts to be true. This is what that has been handed down via family members and grandparents.

My question is that everything I look up for any Milton Dresbach (date of birth closely matches) only mentions a Kate for his spouse. I don't know if, maybe, Lillie died young and he remarried as I can find only 1 other sibling for Lillian. This is a mystery to me and I would appreciate any help you may have.

Also, you have solved one puzzle for us. We have recently visited the Hallsville Cemetery and noticed that Amanda Ranck was buried there and her stone did not say Dresbach. After reading your posting and learing that she died young and Samuel re-married, it makes more sense. Thank you.

We live close to Pickaway Co., so reseach is not a problem.

If you are looking for someone buried at the old Hollywood Cemetery on Hollywood Rd in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, please go to www.findagrave.com. I have been working on this list for two years, as time permits. There are presently over 1900 people listed as of this date. We are still working on it and adding names, pictures of markers and information, as it comes to light. If you can help with names, dates or other information, please contact me, so we can document your family that is buried there. If you are willing to help - we would love to have you do so. This cemetery is in really bad shape and the least we can do is document as many of the graves as possible.

Hans C. Drasbeck was born 12/6/1861 in Denmark. He was killed 10/3/1903. He is buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Hollywood Rd, Atlanta, Fulton Co, Georgia. The marker reads: In mamory of my beloved husband Hans C. Drasbeck, born Denmark, 12/6/1861, Murdered in Atlanta, Ga 10/3/1903. This is a huge cemetery and is in deplorable condition. It is extremely overgrown and much like a jungle. We are trying to find relatives of people buried in this cemetery to help us clean it up and make a list of all buried there, if possible. The company who owns the cemetery will do nothing to it. Please contact me at WindyWindy1919@Yahoo.com. We could sure use your help. I hope that this information helps you.

Martin Dreisbach son of Jacob and Magdalene Buchs was b. 1777 d. 1850 married Lydia Spyker.
The spelling of name changed with their children. I am decended from oldest son Simon Dresbach(1802-1867). There were three more boys: Ephraim (1803-1875), Jacob (1805-1849), and Henry(1809-1859). I do not have lineage on three but do know that because of the name change one of them could be the father to L. and Reuben. At least one of Simon's brother came to the mid-west from Penn. Hope this helps. If anything fits let me know.
Jo Lyn

If you read LIFE FOR DEATH by Michael Mewshaw - you will see that Harold Dresbach and his wife were murdered by his son in Churchton, MD in the 60s. The community was Franklin Manor - I know this because i was born and raised in Chruchton, MD. I know where the house is that it happened in - though it has been remodeled.
I think you may find the answers to your questions in a book called "Life for Death" by Michael Mewshaw, c.1980. An attorney named Harold Malone Dresbach who lived in Franklin Manor MD died on Jan. 7, 1961, along with his wife, Shirley. They were both shot to death, and their 15 yr old son, Ralph Wayne Dresbach was quickly arrested. The name of his father isn't mentioned, but his mother was alive and living in Palm Springs CA at that time, and died in 1967. His only other relative was aunt Florence Ramsey of Hutchinson, Kansas. I'm only halfway thru the book so I can't tell you how it all ends, but I was trying to find photos of the cast of characters when I stumbled across your post. How bizarre!

My deceased husband, Byron Lee Dresbach is a 4great grandson of George Dresbach who was a brother of Martin. The Pickaway County Bio and History lists his birth date as 1776 and passing as 1850. I'm sure this is the same person. I have the entire lineage of George but I have nothing on the other brothers except names. They
were Martin 1776-1850, John George B 15 Jan 1784, Samuel, Benjamin, Henry Jonathan, Jonas and 5 daughters names unknown. If I can help will be glad to share all I have for return of some info on Martin and his line.

I know how bad the cemetery is. My husband and I went a couple of years ago and cleaned off the lot. The wall is falling down on one side. I don't know what we could do to help clean up the cemetery. There is a law about abandoned and neglected cemeteries. I can't find the piece of paper I had it written on at this moment. I remember calling about it. Maybe you could check into it. I'll look for the paper as soon as I can.
