Yes, I have info on all of Matthias children. But, I don't know who his parents were. I hear that he was in the German army and after that came to America because his parents had died. Look in the 1920 census report on Theresa & John.

I am a decendant of Mathias and Anna (Schlagel) Dressen. One of their sons, Theodore married Catherine (Meyers) Dressen, and one of their daughters, Clara Dressen married Frank Jacobs, who had a son Ronald Jacobs, and then there's me. :) I have other limited information about them including birth and death dates, etc. Feel free to contact me at louieander@yahoo.com

William and Amelie (Helmer) Dressen

Hello - I am researching the family of Wilhelm and Amelia Glenz Helmer who were married in Stearns County, Minnesota in 1855. Their children are: Ellen, Lydia, Lillian, AMELIA LUCINDA, Samuel, Edward, William and Cecelia Agnes. Samuel moved to Springfield, Oregon and I have no record of his being married. He died in 1975. Cecelia Agnes married Roman John Stock in 1920 In Yakima, Washington and had two children: William John and Bernadine Lucille. Bernadine married Mr. Caulkins, but I have no records for William. AMELIA LUCINDA married WILLIAM DREESEN and lived to be over 100 yrs old, dying in Stearns County Minnesota in 1972. However, I think there was a connection with Yakima, Washington for Amelia and William. I have William Helmer living/dying in Brownton, MInnesota. I am hoping to connect with others who are researching this line and I'd be happy to share information. Thank you - Sue sug53@earthlink.net

Matthias was my great-grandfather. He was born on Oct 24,1828. His parents died when he was 24 years of age. After serving 3 years in the army, he came to the US. (1854)He married Anna on Mar 3, 1854. They lived in the Rochester, NY area until about 1859. They can be located in McGregor, Iowa in 1860. By 1864 they were in the Bellechester, MN area. They came to the Tyler, MN area in 1880 where they spent the rest of their lives. I do have more history on this family. Would be glad to share with you.

The only I have on Uncle Charlie is a photo copy of the 1920 or 1921 Staley Bears (he was quaterback)when they won the league championship. It was the year before George Hallas bought the team $500 and moved them to Chicago. My father can give you more information, give him a call, oh yea, his name is Bill and my mothers name is Carol.

Take Care and talk to you soon!
