Can anyone help me prove or disprove that John Harvey Dresser (dob 30 June 1825) is the son of Harvey Dresser and not Artemas Dresser. In the info that I received from Jim D. some years ago, John H. was listed a child of Artemas. However, I have found documentation listed in a book “The Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Indpendence” John H.'s parents were Harvey and Huldah Gibson Dresser. Also found in the 1850 census that John H. was living with Harvey while John W. (White) was living with Artemas. I also question why Artemas would have had a son named John W., dob 1811 and a dod 1886, and then another son named John H, dob 1825. Any comments that would add to this "muddy mess" would be appreciated.

Anyone that is a descendant of John Harvey and Elizabeth Catharine Vliet Dresser would also be a descendant of John Hart who signed the Declaration of Indpendence for New Jersey.
