We're researching a line of Dreys from Schuylkill, PA. My great-grandmother was Ellen Mariah Drey (b. 1883)she married a Pierson). Her parents were Albert (b. 1860)and Alice Drey (b. 1864). Any information on this line of the Dreys would be very welcome!

Cecelia Carty on my family tree is born in 1851 in Pennsylvania to Sumptor Marion Carty and Ann Carty. Could this be the same Carty family?

G. W. Drey is my great, great grandfather, Robert, is my great grandfather, Louise C. Drey (Dunlap, Hess) is my grandmother and Carol Dunlap is my mother. Please get back to me or any one else. Love to know more about the tree and visit any graves site i can.

From what you have said it sounds like it is possible we are related. In my records I do have William married to a Mary - They had 11 children but only 4 surived to adulthood. From the info I have George (son of William) had 1 sister (Annie or Anna) and 2 brothers (Elmer Emerson and Frank) William was a widow and living with his daughters family in the 1930 Census and was shown as 78 years old, George was also living there shown as age 29 and single.

I subscribe to Ancestry.com they have a lot of info, old newpapers, military records and such. There are also a lot of free genealogy sites. You might check the New York Libraries and Historical societies online. Sometimes I just google a person's name, but that can give you iffy results.

Thank you for that information. My dad's fathers name was William. My dad, George, was born in Aug of 1901. (I can't find the day) I never saw William, he probably was dead before I was born in 1943. William was married to Mary Kronenbitter Drey. I did hear also that our name was changed from Dry. My dad George died in 1953 and was married to my mom Sara Drey.

It seems like you are very knowledgeable about finding family information. I have been searching for years for information about my real parents, Joseph and Alberta Canfield of New York City. I have alot of information, their names, the hospital I was born in, where my real father worked, etc. All from my adopted mom who also told me I may have brothers or sisters. I have been unable to find any other information besides that. Any suggestions would definitely be appreciated.

Robert Albert Drey was my Great Grandfather and was the only child of George and Cecilia.

I am sure your Dad was related someway, there aren't many Drey's around, or if they are they are well hidden. Do you know what your Grandfather's name was?

I am not sure but I believe Benjamin Dry is George's Father. From what I can find Benjamin's children changed the spelling of the last name to Drey. I believe "my" George had a brother named William. William (born March 1853) had a son named George born about 1903. I am not sure who he married as he was still single in the 1930 Census.

Please let me know if any of this fits with the info you have.

David Gilleland posted Bond with David Day/Drey of $200 in May 1839 for Catherine Nesbitt appt. guardian of Jane Isabella, Mary Emaline, John Maxwell, Amanda Dovy, Ross McClelland, and Elizabeth Euphemia Nesbit, orphans of Moses M. Nesbit deceased. I am trying to determine if there was a familial link between Catherine and David Drey or Iredell Co, NC. Can anyone tell me David's siblings names, parents names or wife's maiden name? Do you know of any link to Catherine or Amanda Nesbitt?

I've just uncovered some interesting information about Aron Drey's son Leopold Drey who had children Albert and Adolph L who went to St. Louis. My cousin is related to Adolph Jr's wife Ruth Fribourg and I have been researching Adolph Sr's wife Lizzie Hellman. (dau of Marx Hellman and Jennette Wolf). I would love to find someone who has additional information on this part of the Drey tree.

My 2nd great grandmother was Alice G. Drey. The 1920 census shows her birth place as Iowa. I have found an Alice Drey in the 1880 census in Boyer Valley, Sac Co., Iowa. It has her father listed as Jacob. I was wondering if you have any information on Alice Drey.

My step-father is Darryl Chapman. I have been doing alot of genealogy and have started work on the Chapman/Hazen/Drey/Warren lines. I would be very happy to share. I have approx 1000 names and other info. Ialso found that The Cowgill(Cougle) and Hazen line are connected much earlier. I believe it was Joseph Cougle Hazen. I am looking for anyone who has info on this line.
