Classification: Query
Surnames: Egan, Eagan, Driscoll, Mahone, Mahoney,
Today I found this string and hope that you are still on
As was said by Susan in above string, I am also a descendant of Michael Egan. We think he was born about 1813. He married Catherine Driscoll, from County Cork. Her mother was Catherine Mahoney. Her father Michael Driscoll. She was born either in Skibereen or Augadown. Later, her father can be found in the records of the Earl of Bantry as he rented property from him. In the 1910 census, Catherine Egan is living with her youngest daughter Mary / Marie and Marie's Husband Frank Smith. There is also a Martin Egan, born in Ireland living with them. We were told that Michael Egan had a number of brothers who came over with him from Ireland. Most stayed in New York, but Michael went to Chicago. (Possibly via St. Louis)
The names of Michael's children are: (George)Francis, John, Michael, Katherine, Bridget, Daniel, Ellen, James and Mary.
If you think there may be a link, please let me know.
