Having the subject persons as interest for a long time in my mind, I have learned in the past month that Israel Drone (the tailor) is a brother to my John Drone of Muscoda, Wis. I went to the message board and looked again for this select Drone group.

I know it does not satisfy the parentage of your subject David Drone/Drohn/Dhron and probably mine, however it certainly strengthens the probability of brotherhood in regard to David.

This Israel Drone is found in the Wisconsin 1855 state census with wife, Harriet and 3 daughters born in Illinois Sarah, Catherine and Hennrietta. Also in Kansas 1860 and Missouri 1870 census make it clear that David and Harriet were long enough in Muscoda, Wis. to have son Benjamin and daut. Lucinda born in Muscoda, Wis.

This brotherhood of Israel and John now make the home site search and selection of John in Muscoda, Wis. more reasonable; for that is what John did by sending his son Andrew to Muscoda, Wis. in 1854 and possess the site in 1856.

As for David he appears in 1850 with wf Julianna Keller with 6 children. Then in 1870 another David with wf Mary and 3 children. I am not certain if it is the same David, do you know?
