I am Fred Drost oldest son Darrell. Yes many people called him Sonny in my younger years. Dad pasted on 5 Feb 1979 (30 years ago) We visited his sister Mickey in Iowa in 1978 I beleive, I was 15. His other sisters are Kay and Lucille. Lucille is passed, not sure about Kay. His half sister Jody (Geneva) still lives in Caribou. My mother (Aline)sister (Gail) brothers (Scott, Edward (Eddie) Andrew (Andy) all still live in Caribou area. I live in Texas. Julius Drost – Friend and neighbor, the sad news that our much beloved husband and father, Julius Drost on Wednesday, the 19 of September, at 12:30 in the morning, age 38 years, 2 months, and 28 days, is peacefully at rest.
The funeral will be on Saturday, the 22 of September, at 2:00 in the afternoon from the mourning home, No. 621 21st Avenue, in the city.

Sorry for flooding your e-mail with another message, but I reread a message I sent to you and found a big error. My grandfather, Jabez William Saunders, was married to Bertha Clara Elm (I think I said she was his mother in a message). His mother was actually Margaret Kirkpatrick. She is another person I am having problems getting information on as well as her husband, Edwin Saunders.

I have a picture of Clara when she was in her 60's or 70's in Duluth. Bertha Clara (who died of tuberculosis at the age of 30, as you probably know) was in the background in an outside porch where she stayed until she died. Do you have any pictures of John or Clara? Do you know where they were buried? I haven't been able to locate the cemetery. John's death certificate said that he was to be buried in Minneapolis, but none of the cemeteries have John or Clara listed.

My e-mail is ecook9@cox.net, and I would love whatever information you have. I have no idea where John Elm was born (other than in Sweden). I don't know what his parish was there and can't get information on his parents or ancestors until I have that information. I actually had research done on Clara Drost and have two generations back for her. I don't know what happened to the other children in the family. My grandfather was Jabez William Saunders, although he went by William. His mother was Bertha Clara Drost. I'll be glad to exchange information.

I would be very interested in sharing info on Drost family of descendents of Peter Drost UEL. My grandfather Peter Grant Drost was one of 10 children of John Drost and Matilda Ruddle. I think John was the son of John Drost and Sophia Briggs. My direct line moved from New Brunswick to Ontario to Manitoba and finally to Vancouver BC in 1902.

I saw your posting--I am Ann Drost by birth and yes the Drost name is Dutch. It has an "E" on the end of it in many cases. There is a fellow in the Netherlands I have been in touch with that is trying to obtain information on Drost families, I can give you his info if you're interested.

I would like to know the dates of birth and death of Elisabeth Geertruida Drost. She was born about 1879 in s'Gravenhage.Netherlands. Her parents were Gerrit Willem Hendrik Lodewijk Drost and Alida Sophia Geertrui Elisabetha Antonissen. She was a widow 1st of Jacobus van Rheenen and 2nd Bernardus Johannes Otten. She died after WW2 in the Netherlands, probably in s'Gravenhage.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look up cenus.
So I can see here that there is 2 different families.Allen in Fort Fairfield is probably one I'm looking for.Allan 1st wife died 1890, so I would assume that he married Amanda Green about 1896.
I now know that Abbie and Amanda were two different people.
I don'T believe that charles(Died1911 Age 12) in census is one I was looking for , he must be living with g parents Stephen and Eliza Devoo(Devoe-Defoe)

If you ever need a look up in Canada please let me know and I will do my best to find it.

Would anyone on this page know something about, Bolette Drost living in Cook county, Illinios. She was born in 1857, and came from Norway to USA in 1883 according to the 1910 cencus. Was her maiden name Olsen, Olson or Teodorsen ?
I do wonder if she was a sister of my great grandmother.

I believe they came from Rszezow, Poland but I know very little except Anna Wdowiak married a Drost and her son, John was known as John Drost, though that was not his father's name. Very little is known about this side of the family.

Hi I do not know who her parents are. She is listed with Susanna Hathaway in the 1851 census as her granddaughter and in the 1861 census with Calvin Hathaway as his neice Susanna was living with him at that time. Her mother must be on of Calvin's sisters.

rock island county and to a James Snell in St. Clair co on 3-11-1901. That is 22 years between marriages, does that sound about right to you according to family history? I don't have her marrying a Fuhr.

The Marriage certificate of Byron Drost on 4 October, 1936 in Florenceville, New Brunswick lists his mother as Abbie Remie as indicated on the first message.
The 1880 census lists Abbie Remie from Whiting, Washington County, Maine - daughter of William Remie, who was born in Massachusetts which agrees with the census records for this Abbie as to the location of her fathers birthplace.
The 1900 census also listed that Abbie and Allen were married for 12 years.

My Aunts from that union were Mabel Eva Drost, Marilyn Anita Drost, Twin boys Donald R Drost and Gerald Raymond Drost (died)..birth records are on file in Caribou. Pictures of Drost Family, Streator, IL found

Recently I was given a box of photos from a family member and as we were going through the box putting names to faces, found several with the last name of DROST written on them. They are wedding photos from between 1915 and 1930, maybe a little before that time. One of my family members is in them, Felix SKORUPSKI. He lived in Streator, IL and was my grandfather's uncle. He was also called "Skeeziks" by family members. I suspect that it is his wife who was a DROST. Can anyone help me?

Drost, If you are looking for my uncle, I am sorry to tell you that My Uncle William passed away about four years ago. He was in the Air Force during WWII, and was a tail-gunner on a B-17. I have a picture of him near the plane.
If you want to e-mail me, I can fill you in.
My husband said my uncle told him that the crew flew out of England. He, maybe, also flew out of Italy. That was never discussed.
He was born in Holland, but he had become a U. S. citizen after they arrived here.

Looking for my grandmother's cousins who were Drosts living in Passaic. John Drost moved to Florida. His mother's maiden name was Wdowiak. She died in the winter of 1932/1933. Her brother was Joseph Wdowiak who, while attending her funeral, caught pneumonia and died in Edwardsville, PA two weeks later. We have no idea what John Drost's mother's first name was. We just found out Joseph Wdowiak had a sister.

Looking for family members of the Drosts who resided in 1920's in Passaic and then Bergen, Garfield, NJ.

Catherine (Wdowiak?) Drost born 1877 in Poland/Austria. Husband listed as deceased in 1920 census. Children were;

Joseph b. 1902 Poland. Listed as divorced in 1930. Possibly died in Passaic.

John Drost b. 1897 Poland, died in Miami in 1984. Married Mary and ha John, Jr. and Dorothy.

Possible Agnes born 1899 Poland. Last known as living in Walington, NJ.

Another daughter from 1920 census age 14 but unreadable. Born in Poland.

Believe Catherine's maiden name was Wdowiak and was the sister of Joseph Wdowiak of Edwardsville and Wilkes-Barre, PA. Joseph went down for her funeral in the winter of 1933 and while attending, caught pneumonia and died two weeks later.
