Emily B. Sofa

Emily B. Sofa, 94, formerly of West Mifflin, died Monday, March 28, 2011, in Kane Regional Center, McKeesport. She was born March 14, 1917, in Duquesne, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Drotar) Sofa. She was retired from US Steel Duquesne and Homestead Works, where she worked in industrial relations. Emily was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, and a member of the former Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Duquesne 871. She was the sister of the late Francis Sofa, Louis Sofa, Michael Eugene Sofa, Margaret Szeppessy, Anna Drotar and Velma Szabatura; survived by her niece and caregiver, Doris Krise, of Dravosburg; and also other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. A blessing service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Name Church with the Rev. Dennis Colamarino as celebrant. Interment in Holy Name Cemetery.
