Hello Sharon, it was really nice to get your short message. Who knows, maybe we are distant cousins in fact. As we can see there are a lot of Drozds all over the world. Answering to your questions: for now I didn't contact with any church in Nowotaniec area - it could be helpfull as far as civil marriage or death records which you are (and me) interested in; any informations I have, these are family informations, from that region as well, I was there 2 years ago; second step will be to gain some informations from parisch in that area; only parisch is able to give some informations on that case of those times in Poland; besides gentry's surnames ofcourse as for example "Potocki"; what's a pity Drozds are not gentry surname (ha,ha); Palys as well; I act slowly (becouse of lack of time - work and study) but effeciently I hope. And now - there are two places I'm getting some informations about the Drozds family, particularly about: Jersey City and Pittsburgh. I'll by a card and get to know more about US geography.
Sharon, and now I will answer where I live. In fact it's one of the best city in Poland. You can meet here Czech's, Germans's, Jewish's and Polish's history. This town is Wroclaw. South-west part of Poland. Here are also a lot of people in that area who came from the east (Galicia) after the WWII. For example Stanislaw's daughter-Maria (maiden Drozd), then Palys (Palys from those-Galicia area as well)-my mother. You can fell here many cultures influences.
Sharon, sorry. It's late. I must go to bed. In Poland it's nearly 3 pm. I'm sorry for any errors. Henryk. I'm waiting your reply.
