Hi. I got a reply from an older Drubin, whose uncle was this Daniel Drubin. He asked me for the picture you mentioned. I did not have it, but thanks to your info I was able to find that issue of The Shack on a Google military group website. I downloaded it and sent it to the 72 yr. old nephew. Thanks for letting me know about this. It was very kind of you! Randee

2nd Lt.Daniel T. Drubin was my uncle. He was a bombardier on a B-24 which crashed on take off in England on August 11, 1943. Only 3 members of the 10 man crew survived, he was not one of them. He was single, 24 yrs of age. If you could forward the picture to me at dddbmd@msn.com I would appreciate it. I actually remember being with him and watching as his plane took off for Ireland. I am 72 yrs. old.

Daniel is pictured in The Shack, yearbook of the 42-17 class of bombardier cadets at the San Angelo (Texas) Army Air Field. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the DRUBIN family.

Looking for any relations to the DRUBEN family of NYC. Herman Druben, from Germany married Betty Heyde in 1892. They had Leo, Herman (Henry) Esther, Charles, Louis and Elizabeth DRUBEN b. 1893-1905. Any connections I'm very interested in.

Regards,

Jim

I find it rather difficult finding info of this family! All these long years I was told my grandmother's maiden name was Drubin. I just got what is supposed to be her birth record from NYC and it has the family name as DrubEn! So....Her parnents names where Bernhard and Fannie (Hirschmann) Druben. The mother was from Barvaria and the father from Germany..not sure which part. That is all I know about that. My grandmother, Lillian (Druben) Burk, had one brother..David Drubin (again with the spelling!)...but he did not have any children. Randee
