I assume Drumeller is one of the many forms of Drumheller which itself comes from the name Trumpfheller. A good source for the Berks County PA Drumhellers is http://berks.pa-roots.com/books/montgomery/d10.html .
I believe that all Drumhellers and their name variants are ultimately descendents of these Berks County Drumhellers.

Hi. I don't know about the name you are looking for, but my name is Elizabeth Burrichter. I just thought it was weird because there aren't many Burrichters. When I was at Ellis island, I found the my name on the big wall of immigrants. You might have some luck there. I live in PA.

Thank you fror responding to me.. Drumheller I believe is German. And we did drop the h for some reason. my family always believe it was german. And I also work with a german guy who came over here from germany 47 years ago. He did tell me that it was a vary german name. so if your figureing out any kind of family tree or something that info may help you :). but some to think of it it does sound scottish. do you have any other evidence that it may come from scotland?

Josh,
Thanks for writing. My grandfather was William Hickson Drumeller. I would guess he was born in the late 1890's. Will try to find out some more about him. Here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, there are lots of Drumhellers, and my brother (William Hickson Drumeller, III) thinks the family comes from Scotland. I suspect that one of our ancestors dropped the "h" a while back.
Good luck in your work and schooling.
mdb

Any Drumellers out there? My grandfather, William Hickson Drumeller, was a grocer in Farmville, VA. He was born around the turn of the century, and died of pneumonia around 1937. Don't know anything about his parents.
