Pete Duarte (1953) Fort Bragg, NC

I was born 3/8/53 in Charlotte, NC to Pete Duarte and Virginia Farmer. My father was serving in the Army in Fort Bragg, NC. They were divorced in 1953 after I was born. At my father's request my mother put in the divorce papers there were no kids by the marriage. I just want to find out what I can about my father and his family. Just for my own piece of mind. I have always felt as if there's a part of me missing. I don't know where to go or what to do. I was told that I have a Aunt by the name of Sally and my Grandfather was Joseph and they lived around New Mexico. I would appreciate any help!

He came to Hawaii late 1800s, married a Hawaiian woman name Mileka Paiaina, my great grandmother. We are trying to locate any information or relatives back on Cape Verdes, Portugal. He was known in Hawaii as Aleck or Alika, not even sure if his real name was Ayeres, best guess with help of Portuguese Historians. He was born May 1851, that's all that we know. We do not have parent's name or any info on siblings. If anyone beyond Hawaii has any information, please share it with us.

I'm looking for information on my great grandmother Isabel Duarte born June 29, 1879 at Canulas Ranchera near Pirute California. Her father was Jose de Jesus Duarte and her mother was Angela Real. I'm researching the Fernandez Family which allegedly dates back to San Gabriel Mission, Prospero - native born in 1797. Anyone have any information to share?
