My great granfather bought the "home place" of Emanuel Dubbs which had the rock house and spring house on Sweetwater Creek. It also has the chalk rock hill from which they brought the stone to build the Mobeetie Jail.

All I know is that my g-grandmother was born in Salem, OH so I can only presume that Isabella had ties to that area Her other children, both before and after, were born in PA. Unfornunately I have absolutely no history on her so that's what I'm looking for. Thanks for responding.

I'm responding to your posting of 2001 regarding Dubbs in OH/PA. I am trying to locate any ancestry on Isabella Dubbs (1826-1918) who was born in OH later lived in both OH and PA. Could she be in any way related to the Dubbs line you are researching?

I'm seeking any information on the lineage of my gg-grandparents, David Yarnell (1825-1896 and his wife, Isabella Dubbs Yarnell (1826-1918). They lived and raised their family in and around Allegheny County, PA but may have had an Ohio connection since my g-grandmother (Molly Yarnell Bartley) was born in Samem, Ohio. Any info will be greatly appreciated and may be emailed direct to grnthmbs34@gmail.com. Thanks!
I believe that my Martin's grandparents were Henrich and Anne Marie. My Martin was born in approx 1767 and he is listed in the census of 1800 living with his brother Michael. There were so many Martin's in the family till about 1860, its hard to tell you which is which. Then the name Charles repeats itself several times, as does Joseph. But my g/g/g/g grandfather's sister was Sabina. Like I stated before, I have quite a bit on this string of the Dubs/Dubbs. And, I have the letter written in 1849 which lists all of the children of Martin and Sarah Dubs. When they came from PA to the Midwest, they changed the spelling to Dubbs. Please send me an email and I will give you more information. Thanks. Debbie

I have a Sabina Dubs/Dubbs in my family tree. She was born in PA, believe Lancaster County early 1800's. Her father's name was Martin, mothers was Sarah Jones. I have further information regarding Martin's parents if you think this may help. My Sabina could be a granddaughter of your Sabina or a great niece. The name itself is surely of the same family.
I have letter written in 1849 which mentions Sabina. Be glad to make you a copy. Debbie

Henry Alfred Dubbs is a distant relative. His grandfather, Joseph Schwenk Dubbs, was youngest of 11 children born to Daniel Dubbs and his wife, Elizabeth Schwenk. My line descends from Daniel's son (Johann) Jacob Dubbs. Daniel's father, Jacob, was a gunsmith that came over from Switzerland in 1732 to Philadelphia.

I will be more than happy to reimburse you for the postage and copying.

I could not tell from your message whether you have any specific interest in Emanuel other than your willingness to share the article.

My grandmother, Blanche Dubbs, was born in sod hut at Mobetie, TX in April, 1891.

I have a autobio of his life that he wrote in his later years which includes his Civil War experiences, sub-contractor to the railroad and his Dodge City and buffalo days. I have a copy his application for Civil War disability payment witnessed by John W. Poe, who was with Pat Garrett when Garraett killed Billy the Kid. I also have found numerous books that mention him.

John DUBBS

Am seeking information on the descendants of John W. Dubbs of Mendota (LaSalle County), IL. John was born in Kansas in 1881 to John Allen Dubbs and Lizzie (Kerns) Dubbs. Lizzie (the younger sister of my g-grandmother) and Allen were married in 1880 in Bethlehem, PA and then migrated west. I am not sure how long they stayed in Kansas, but their two children were born there. In the 1900 cnsus, John and Lizzie are in Mendota. Apparrently John Sr. died before 1910. Lizzie is shown in the 1930 census still living in Mendota at age 72. In the same census, son John W. is shown as married with five children.

Hi Debbie
Thanks for the reply.
I do not have much on the DUBS families, as they are a fairly new discovery and addition to my ROUGH/RAUCHs. My Anna Elisabeth DUBS had a brother named John Martin. Since the German men usually went by their middle name, this could be the Martin that married Sarah Jones. I believe Martin to have been born in 1747, and probably in Lebanon County, PA. Your Sabina, maybe named after Maria Sabina (Martin's sister), could have been John Martin's daughter (?). Do you know Sarah Jones birth year? Was she younger than Martin? Is Martin's parents Hendrik DUBS & Anna Maria Tibben?
Any information would be gratefully appreciated.
Regards,

John
I know very little about the Dubbs family but I would like to ask if you might know if the Morris Dubbs you mentioned had a son named John E. and did the family live in Lebanon County, PA? I would like to learn if this John E., son of a Morris Dubbs moved to Mecklenburg County, NC (Charlotte) and if so do you by any chance know who his wife was. I do know that a John Dubbs and his wife, Ruth M., both lived in North Carolina until their deaths. Any information on this will be appreciated very much.
