I am looking for any information or possible relatives of my great grandparents Joseph Dube and Exilda Ayotte. I found a marriage license for them which lists his father as being John Dube (Canada) and Heman(?) Langois. Her parents were Aleck (Axel) and Cadie Brovier. They lived in Menominee County in Michigan in 1900-1920 and moved to Milwaukee, WI and later to California. They changed the spelling of their name to Dubey. Please contact me if you have any information. Thank you.

Hi. No problem. Would love the photo of the headstone. I don't have any of Henry and Rose as I didn't even know about them until I saw this post.. My grandmother Rachel died in her 30's when my father was only 11 due to gall bladder complications and we have never known much about her side of the family due to this. Her Husband (my grandfather) William Vincent Donahue died this past feb 2011 of cancer and he had remarried shortly after Rachel's death so no one really talks about her.. I will see if anyone else has anything, but my email is adonahuern@yahoo.com for the headstone photo.. thanks so much!

John Paul Dube 1919, Papineau, Quebec. Canada

Hi, I am looking for some information on John Paul Dube born in Papineau, Quebec. Canada.

He was/is my Mother-in-law's Father although she has never met him.

I really don't know a lot about him other than;
He was an army cook with the Canadian Army.
He married Bessie M Williams in Southwark London in 1943.
They had a daughter, Pauline in 1945. And a son 2 years after that.
I believe he and Bessie divorced but cannot find any record of this. I cannot find any information on John Paul's return passage to Canada.
The family story is that John Paul wanted Bessie to return to Canada with him, she would not go and he left without her.
I do know from the marriage certificate, that John Paul's father was called Maurice Dube and he was a farmer.

If you've got this far - thank you!
I would appreciate any information.

Kind Regards

Where they lived? Did she spoke about her parent's family? Did her sister Scholastique died before 1921? (Date of second marriage of her husband) When and where? When and where Josephine's parents died?.
What information about our Canadian part of the family would be interesting to your grandmother?
If you email, I then will send to you my complet postal address.
Monique Belanger
Matane
monibel@globetrotter.net

Thank you very much for this answer.
I was working on this family since more than ten years. Josephine was a first cousin of my father, Louis-Philippe Belanger, but they did not known each other. I know now they were born on the same year. This day, 17 february was his birthday. Your post is as a birthday gift.
Josephine's father was born in Saint-Simon de Rimouski, Quebec and settled to Michigan around 1893. I have found some information about Josephine parents and family. I would be interested to have contacts with all these relatives who have lived in Michigan and exchange informations.
my email is monibel@globetrotter.net

Bonjour, the meaning of the du Bé surname is right, except for the area. I have visited the du Bé manor of the 1st du Bé: Jean, (manoir) with the French ADGO (Ass des Dubé du Grande Ouest) it is in the hamlet of Le Bé, on the outskirts of the village of Méneac (they have a web site - try google earth) which is in north Morbihan in Brittany - near Plouay.
Andréa
p.s. manor house in those days (12 century) was 1 room, mud floor an attic and attached stable so the heat from the animals could help warm the house in winter!
