I do have quite a bit on Victoria's family(Pineau), but I am assuming you are tracing the Dube family. Sorry I can't help - I really would appreciate what you have on the children of Pierre and Victoria though. Thank You. You can email me directly.

I do not believe the Jean Luc Dube & Emerence Potvin is the correct parents of Octave. Why... This Octave 1st m. as stated correct. Then his second marriage to Catherine Harvey in 1859 & his 3rd m. to Adelaide Bergeron in 1864 & 4th m. in 1900. Next Harvey being Lefebvre ?? (but could be?) with further investigation of that BUT since Calixte was born @1866, Octave is already with his 3rd wife. So the possibility becomes further far-fetched.

I am searching for the descendants of Josephine Belanger born around 1903 amd married to Fred (Alfred) Dubé probably in Sault Ste-Marie, Michigan

Josephine Belanger is the daughter of Auguste Belanger and Delia Brisson married around 1893 probably in Cheppawa area, Michigan.

Josephine had at least four sisters,
Mary L. deceased when she was a young child,
Lydia (Leda) married to Emile Paquin,
Scholastique married to Albert Thomas Pearsal;
and Augustine born around 1908.

Many cues in the 1900 and 1910 Census about the family of Auguste Belanger, father of Josephine , let me think that he was my grandfather's brother, (my grand uncle) born in St-Simon of Rimouski, Quebec province on february 1861.

Please, if you know this family, can you tell me who are the parents of Auguste Belanger married to Delia Brisson.
Family of Augustin Dube and Ursule Ouellet

I have inherited a few papers that are in French and list genealogy information on this couple. I do not know who wrote it or how accurate the information is but I would like to share it. I do not speak or read French but it is seems obvious to me that it lists the children and their birthdates. I believe at the bottom it says that Cyrille was married twice. It lists his two wives and the children he had with each. Here is is word for word:

Augustin Dube et Ursule Ouellet maries en 1787 a Kamouraska

Leurs Enfants:

Madeleine nee le 25 octobre 1788
Celeste nee le 15 fevrier 1790 (my ancestor; married Joseph Levesque)
Apolline nee le 10 fevrier 1792
Jean Pierre ne le ler aout 1793
Charlotte nee le 13 juillet 1795
Seraphine nee le 15 decembre 1796
Jean Cyrille ne le 12 janvier 1798
Madeleine nee le 6 aout 1799
Elisabeth nee le 21 juillet 1800
et
Marie Domitille nee le 21 juillet 1800
Mathilde nee le -------1804

N.B. Cyrille Dube s'est marie 2 fois;lere femme, Mlle Josephine Bouchard -- 4 enfants: Edouard, Bruno , Emelie et Henreiette. 2e femme; Mlle Osithe Berube -- 6 efnants: Remi, Cyrille, Henriette, Charles, Philomene et Vincent.

Mathurin Dube comes from La Chapelle Themer in Vendee. The Dube association erected a plague in that church a few years back (believe was 1998). I was with them and we toured all the historic places for Mathurin Dube & Marie Campion (church in Rouen, FR which was under re-construction). Had 4 banquets with the Dube's from France. Know a few of them and the Dube Association knows many of the Dube French. We visited a Dube Plantation in Vendee - place of Marcel Dube & Vivian where the family had set up a long wine table. Over 40 French people greeted us. Have many pics of this trip. As for the Dube Crest, you take the one that is from the region where your ancestor is from. The book of Armorials by R. J. Riestapp has most of the Crests that were given out for great deeds. If I can further assist you, please let me know.

Octave and Catherine Dube's son Calixte who was born about 1866 in Trois Rivieres is my husbands great grandfather. Can someone please connect the dots? Thank you.

I found this. I don't know if it's correct

Male Family
Octave Dubé Pedigree
--------------------------------------------------------
Event(s):
Birth: 08 NOV 1833 Sainte-Anne De, Sainte Anne De La Pocatiere, Kamouraska, Quebec

Christening:
Death:
Burial:
----------------------------------------------------------
Parents:
Father: Jean-Luc Dubé Family
Mother: Emerence Potvin
-----------------------------------------------------------
Marriages:
Spouse: Genevieve Morel Family
Marriage: 11 SEP 1855 St-Francois-X, , Chicoutimi, Quebec

This, I am told.. is correct.. I do know that Calixte and Elizabeth are the proper line.
============================================= "Octave and Catherine Dubé LEFEBVRE.
My name is Denise Dube (with the original accent on the e)and I am from Mathurin's line. I would also like to know about this eye disease. Also, I have history that dates back to the 1600s, but I am curious about earlier ancestry. I am a writer who travels the world and the Germans have said Dube (pronounced DUBA) is a German name. Any thoughts?

Also, Mathurin left during a time when there was religious strife (when wasn't there?). My family was Catholic, but are there protestant Dube's out there?

And, yet on another note, what is the real Dube crest. I've seen three so far. It would be nice to know which one is real so I can either enjoy the one on my wall or take it down.

Curious, Denise
