Hello John,

Thank you for that information. I appreciate whatever help others can be. Truthfully, I knew that information and have visited her grave and have a picture of it.
I would like to know where her husband, E. P. DuBose died and is buried. I know he married 2 x's after Clara's death, and have heard he died about 1917 but don't know where. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for the information.
Scott
Zane, Ran across you and your postings. My grandfather Daniel Ellis Gorbet was Alma's brother. I remember my family taking my granddad to New Mexico to visit Alma in 1960 or 61. Long hot trip from South Texas with no AC. We stayed at Thelma's house and slept on the floor. That would have been the last reunion between those siblings. The story I was told is a little different from yours and I wouldn't want to publicly post it. If you are interested I would share it by email. Also you may have heard about the reunion we have every July of the decendents of Lorenzo and Sarah Gorbet. (Alma's parents)

DuBose and Howell settled in LA or AR?.

I am still trying to tie up my Howell family ends when I came across her information.

First Search for Alabama DuBose family - Choctaw, Precinct 2

Hello, I am in desperate need to find a branch of my family that I have not known at all. I just found the family tree here on Ancestry, and I am still amazed. I am looking for decedants of Frank and Martha DuBose, from Choctaw, Alabama, Precinct 2. They had 10 children, and eventually moved to Lauderdale, Mississippi, and then to Cincinnati, Ohio. Their children were: Bickey Dubose, female, Mellie Dubose, female, and the rest boys: Isah, Patin (or Peyton), George, Emanuel (my grandfather), John, Frank, Jr., Cullen, and Earl DuBose. I don't have info on my great grandfather's wife (my great grandmother Martha) yet, as I have just started my search. Her brother lived with them, and his name was John Wesley March (my great uncle).

Please help if you can.

My email is sdubosepowell@yahoo.com or please respond on this thread.

God bless you all.

Thomas Jefferson DuBose son of
Joseph (1824-unk) and Lucetia (Henderson) DuBose
Peter Perdept DuBose IV (1795-1847) and Priscilla (Davis) (1798-1872)
Peter P III(1755-1800) and Molly (Davis) (1756-1827)
Peter II (1736-1822) and Sarah (Unknown)
Peter (Pierre) and Madelaine (Royer)
Isaac and Suzanne (Couillandeau)
Isaac and Suzanne originally migrated to the Carolinas, in what is now South Carolina. In about 1849, Priscilla (Davis) widow of Peter P IV and who then married his brother Ruben, moved to Jasper County Texas in what is now Newton County. According to my research, Joseph was Peter IV and Priscilla's first born. Thomas Jefferson was number 6 of 8 children Joseph and Lucretia produced. I also have Joseph married to Minerva Jane Chaddick with 4 offsprings and Susam Kinsaw with 5 offsprings.
My family line comes through Amos F.,the second son of P P IV and Priscilla.

I have looked for years (from GA thru E Texas) for information on Priscilla Davis but have found nothing documented other than after Peter died she and Ruben liquitated all land assets and what did not sell they just left to be sold on courthouse steps in Thomasville GA. I found no records of death of Peter Perdept, gravesite, homeplace or evidence he had been there other than his name on a few of the land records. I have not found a marriage record for Peter and Pricilla nor one for Priscilla and Ruben. I found no gravesite for Pricilla or Ruben, but personal stories say she is buried outside the fence in a cemetery in east Texas. I did find her on census records in Texas. I would love to find solid documentation that would answer many of these mysteries.

I can give you the lineage of Deshabo DuBose. I have wondered about Lucinda J. and William H. in the 1960 Barbour Co., AL census since they are not in the family in 1850. I have a note on William H. in 1860 that he could be William Hubbard DuBose and possibly son of Samuel.

Is there anything to show the parents of Willim Hubbard other than the 1860 census? By 1870, he is married to Arrena Walker.

Brenda, the reunion was of the descendants of John and Margaret Dick DuBose who came to Texas in 1840 and settled in Gonzales. We are related. Margaret Dick was a daughter of Margaret d/o Captain Elias Isaac who was a brother of your Isaac. There are no plans for another reunion.

Are you aware of the DuBose Reunion to be held in SC next month? A number of us from Texas are going. Karen Hansen has arraged a tour of the Low Country where the DuBoses settled. If you are interested, I can send you the information.

Also, I can share any info I have. Do you have Mrs. Macdowell's Dubose Enealogy. If so, I am a Grandson of Elias Dick DuBose, I-83, p 15.

Of course, after all this time, IL may have died, so if any of IL's family can contact me, I would appreciate it.

I, too, am a DuBose descendant from Isaac I, to John, to Lt.
