Winston A. "Duke" Duchow entered eternal life Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012. He was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Okanogan, Wash., son of the late Fred and Bessie Lind Duchow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest son, Eric in 2006. He graduated from Washington State University with a degree in electrical engineering and was recruited by Westinghouse Electric Corp. He served as a lieutenant in Army Signal Corps during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Murrysville District Sportsman's Association, serving as secretary and vice president. He was a life member of the NRA and a avid gun enthusiast as well as a crack marksman. He was a passionate gardener and cook. He had recently converted to Catholicism. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Fredericka "Fredi" Morgan Duchow; two daughters, Gretchen Duchow Lerch, of Murrysville, and Fredericka "Ericka" (Dennis) Pavlik, of Murrysville; two sons, Thomas Duchow, of Murrysville, and Karl Duchow, of Apollo; grandchildren, Fredericka "Jamie" (Robert) Lingg, Donovan Pavlik and Bradley (Taryn) Pavlik; great-grandchildren, Aurora, Shaleigh, Rosalynd and Eric Lingg and Gabriel and Garrett Pavlik; and a brother, Virgil M. (Helen), of Spokane, Wash. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville.
