I have a "mystery gypsy" in my lineage, my great-grandmother on my father's side, named Sophie Duda (surname after marriage). No one knows what her maiden name was. I am curious as to the actual origin of the name Duda. Is it originally Polish, Hungarian, Lithuanian...does anyone know?
