Hi, I am also a Decendent of Clara Duda. She would have been my grandmother, my fathers mother. I remember an Uncle Ed, who I believe was really my fathers Uncle. I am also having difficulty due to parents not speaking of thier past history. From what I know, if it is in fac this same family, they were listed on the nanticoke, Pennsylvania 1910, 1920 census. But, their is another with the same name and ages in Oregon and a few other areas. I remember my Father mentioning a Clem, Stella, Leo whi I believe were cousins. They spoke Polish but on from listed Russia/Polish. I do recall seeing the same areas you have mentioned, but unsure if its the right person. Clara Duda Married a Leo Lee Mayewski and may or may not have died in the Usa. (Leo) Clara in Nanticoke, Pa. My mothers name was Grace and my dad had a much younger brother by the name of John yackomowski. Could this be the Duda family your looking for? I don't have much information myself but trying to correct that. My fathers father, Claras husband seems to have disappeared or something.My father had mentioned only one incident about his father and anything seems to have been mystery/secret.

She was born February 17, 1935 in Lundy’s Lane, daughter of the late Harry W. and Mable Eddy Salhoff. Grace was a member of the Alhi Class of 1953. She attended the Albion Church of the Nazarene
She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, crafts, and loved running the family business with her husband. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Makenzie Herrlich, one brother, George Salhoff, two sisters, Irene Kahler and Lucille Aldrich. I am searching for information on Andrew Duda, who with Catherine Zeman was a parent of Marie Duda. Marie was born in South Pilzen, Bohemia in May of 1865, and migrated to the United States in 1884. She married Joseph Nebuda in Nebraska in 1885.

My grandmother's name was Sophia Duda. I do not have any history on her except I believe she was from Poland and lived in West Va, Ohio, MI area around early 1900's. She married a jeweler, Herman Henry Swierkos. They had six children, Herman, Carl, Ruth, Mary, Bill and Anne. All I know is that I believe she passed away at around 35 years old. I never knew her but would love to know more about the Duda side of my heritage.

What part of Poland did your Jozef (Joseph) Duda come from? My Great Grandmother was Aniela Duda who married into the Szwandrok Family in Zurowa Poland.

I am also researching my Duda relative (Aniela), but keep coming up empty. Any information you have such as sibling names of Joseph would be appreciated.

I am very new at this. This is what I've got:

Angiela Duda was born 4/9/1896 to Albert Duda and Mary Glowacz in Chicago, Illinois. Angiela had a sister, Helen, also born to Albert Duda and Mary Glowacz in Chicago, Illinois. Mary died after that and Albert remarried and had more children.

My gg grandparents were Daniel Hering and Magdalena Duda. They lived around Browns, Illinois and I know there are relatives around there, and In Bone Gap and Albion, Illinois. Joseph Duda married a Mary Melich and lived at Penn.Ave. Mpls., Mn at one time. I believe they had 3 sons. A Frank, I am not sure but possibly a Joseph, with the youngest a Christopher. In June of 1917 they fostered a 2 yr. old girl named Sophia whom they took for a little over a year. They applied for her through New York and took her from an orphan train. We have two surnames in common.
My ancestor Magdalena Duda was born in or near Pojawie, Poland. She married Walenty Lupa, and their daughter Tekla (born around 1850) married an Ignacy Palka.

The village name is Wola Kosnowa, near the town of Lacko Poland (near Nowy Sacz). I have ancestors with the surnames Duda and Wachala too. Yours are not directly related to mine, but are probably cousins and we could probably find a link. My great grandmother's name was Katarzyna Wachala and I have a great grandmother named Marianna Duda. The parish church is in Lacko and the LDS library has microfilmed some of the records.

Thomas Duda and Mary (Maria) Wachala married in Poland prior to 1882 (information I found lists the village as Wolikosnowa Laczu). This was a second marriage for Thomas. Of that marriage, Albert (b. 1883); Joseph (b. 1893); Catherine and Appolonia (birthdates unknown) were born; Albert emmigrated to America and settled in Pennsylvania prior to 1908. He married Mary Jagiella on February 15, 1909 and they later settled in Cleveland, Ohio where they raised their seven children. Any family connections, or ancestor information would be appreciated. I don't know if he had brothers or sisters. I had heard a story of some family with a furniture store in the Cleveland area. He drove a milk delivery vehicle.

Looking for information on my Great-Grandmother, Aniela Duda. She Married Jan Szwandrok from Zurowa Poland. They had seven children: Stanislaw, Bronislawa, Marianna, Anastazja, Leopold, Waldyslaw and Jozef.

Aniela and Jan married in 1893. Therefore, Aniela had to have been born in the middle to late 1800's.

I'm still searching for more info on Jozef born Nov 1865 or 66 in Pstragowie Malo Polska (Austria Poland)...Father listed as Martin, mother as Marhuerita.. Jozef came to the US around 1893. He came first to Mass. Then to NH, marrying in 1894 and settling in Machester NH. He married Julia Palka. After many hard years, he was able to open a bakery. Any info would be appreciated....... The all resided in the Wilkes-Barre/Nanticoke, Pennsylvania region. I believe, but am not positive, that Joseph and Frances Duda came over from Europe. Joseph (sp?) and Frances had the following children: Martha, Michael, Charles, Edward, Joseph, Clara, Leo, Rose and Elizabeth. I know its not much but maybe we have some family ties.
